Books on Hunting
    #1510501 - 05/01/03 07:11 AM (14 years, 6 months ago)

Salutations.

What books would you recommend for mushroom hunting and identification?
Any must-haves?

All I have right now is The Pictorial Encyclopedia of Plants and Flowers by F.A. Novak and edited by J.G. Barton printed in 1965... reprinted up to 1976.

But, any recommendations?

I would guess depends on where you live. The Audubon's field guide to North American Mushrooms works for me.

Audobon's is great but no real keys, just descriptions and pics.
Mushrooms Demystified is great, but you'll want to get the second edition if you don't live in Cali/PNW area.

as long as you live in the north america, regaurdless of region, i'd call them both must haves.

If you live in the PNW than my book Magic Musrhooms of the Pacoific northwest is great. 12 colored photos, text, 35 black and white photos of 18 species forund form San Francisco, California tovancouver, British Colombia, Canada.

mj

have a shroomy day.

If you live in hawaii than my book magic Musrhoosm of the hawaiian Islands would be perfect.

Mj

If you are in India, Thailand or Bali or Mexico, than my book Magic Mushrooms in Third world countries would be great.
