I figured you guys would get a kick out of this. I was at Pike Place Market in Seattle about a week ago. Talked to the lady who was selling these...$25/lb for Lobster! Boooya

So far I've only found about 1,000 Fomitopsis pinicolas...and one fleshy Pleurotus. Keep on huntin'!

I would love to find an edible hunting partner. ehtdaedlufetarg maybe sometime you could show me a thing or two about where to find some good edibles? I have never hunted with anyone else but am not opposed to the idea. No one I know likes hunting mushrooms as much as I do.

Nice Chanterelles applesmasher420! :homerdrool:

This is my second year.... found a boatload of cyans last year thanks to the shroomery.

Im right on Puget Sound and I know where two acres of woodchips from a plowed and mulched private airplane take-off/landing strip. Woodchips piles as large a car in some spots, and there's a 1 acre area that is about knee high in woodchips.  All of them appear to be the right kind. Dull grey in color.  What are the odd's they'll be back this year?

Its a little early though I think.  Its still getting up to the mid 70's atleast one day a week around here.

the odds of them comming back are about 99% as long as you didn't rape your patch and there are still plenty of nutrients for them.

What can one expect to find at this particular time of the year? I've had no luck finding a guide that tells me mushrooms in relation to season/time of the year. I live in the PNW just outside Olympia.

Mushrooms are dependent on humidity, temperature and rain fall. As soon as you get some moisture just go out and look. That's what I do, learn your species and study them a lot. Post pictures, all that the rain promises and more is a good guide to take with you in your backpack. Good luck.

White and golden chanterelles have been up in your area for 3 weeks and I'm sure lobsters oysters chickens and more are around with the recent rain.
