Shotgun Tub advice needed
    #15096393 - 09/18/11 02:46 PM (13 years, 3 months ago)

I've been curious about the shotgun tubs for a while. My current setup is fully automated other than adding water to the reservoir every 4 days or so: http://www.shroomery.org/forums/showflat.php/Number/6442076#6442076

Shotgun tubs seem like they might be even less effort... few questions though before I dive in.

1- Is there a definitive shotgun tek tutorial? There are so many search results I'm having trouble finding the original (or most recent) tek. Specifically I want to make sure I use the right size and number of holes.

2- I've read several posts that talk about having to mist the shotgun tubs. I would like to avoid this, and would keep using my current setup if this is the case. I would be willing to put effort into re-hydration after the flush, but don't care to mist daily. Anyone get good results without misting? I think I remember RR saying misting wasn't required, but can't find that post either.

I know this is 2 years old, but for people just reading this now:

1. http://www.mushroomvideos.com/Terrarium-Tek

2. It was designed to be low maintenance and require little misting. Better than the PF-TEK with drip shield. You might still need to mist it once or twice a day kinda thing.
