Time for Democrats to panic

The following is from James Carville, a Democratic strategist who serves as a political contributor for CNN. Although he gets a few things correct, his world view is pretty whack. I've made comments below. Curious what others think about this topic, and this nutjub:
Source: CNN
Quote:
(CNN) -- People often ask me what advice I would give the White House about various things. Today I was mulling over election results from New York and Nevada while thinking about that very question. What should the White House do now? One word came to mind: Panic.
Yep, I agree. They have lost the independent voters that put Obama into office. The die hard lefties and the black racists will vote for Obama no matter what. Most of the remaining democrats will vote for Obama only because there is no other choice. Unfortunately for Obama, that is not enough votes to win an election.
[... snip ...]
Quote:
1. Fire somebody. No -- fire a lot of people. This may be news to you but this is not going well. For precedent, see Russian Army 64th division at Stalingrad. There were enough deaths at Stalingrad to make the entire tea party collectively orgasm.
What? You really believe tea party people support mass murder? With the tea party, the media is like a rabid dog with a chew toy. If there was ever a case study showing media bias, this is it, in action. Getting back to the point of "fire somebody"...
Quote:
Mr. President, your hinge of fate must turn. Bill Clinton fired many people in 1994 and took a lot of heat for it. Reagan fired most of his campaign staff in 1980. Republicans historically fired their own speaker, Newt Gingrich. Bush fired Defense Secretary Donald Rumsfeld. For God's sake, why are we still looking at the same political and economic advisers that got us into this mess? It's not working.
Furthermore, it's not going to work with the same team, the same strategy and the same excuses. I know economic analysts are smart -- some work 17-hour days. It's time to show them the exit. Wake up -- show us you are doing something.
I agree. When things aren't working, you change them. Remember, "Change - yes we can"? Guess not.
Quote:
2. Indict people. There are certain people in American finance who haven't been held responsible for utterly ruining the economic fabric of our country. Demand from the attorney general a clear status of the state of investigation concerning these extraordinary injustices imposed upon the American people. I know Attorney General Eric Holder is a close friend of yours, but if his explanations aren't good, fire him too. Demand answers to why no one has been indicted.
Mr. President, people are livid. Tell people that you, too, are angry and sickened by the irresponsible actions on Wall Street that caused so much suffering. Do not accept excuses. Demand action now.
Although I agree, nothing is going to happen here. There is too much political donation money for anybody to get indicted. Besides, if they are going to start indicting people, they need to start with their own administration for ignoring bankruptcy law and forcibly involving the government in private business without due process.
And here is where it really starts to go downhill...
Quote:
3. Make a case like a Democrat. While we are going along with the Republican austerity garbage, who is making the case against it? It's not the Democrats!
Only a Democrat would believe that you can spend money that you don't have to pay for things that you want without negative repercussions. Austerity garbage? Really? Have you seen Greece recently? Do you really want to end up there? Cause if you don't, then it is time to plug the money bleeding now while there is still time.
Quote:
We are allowing the over-educated, over-explanatory bureaucrat by the name of (Congresssional Budget Office director Douglas) Elmendorf do all the talking. Do not let him make your case. Let us make your case. Is it any wonder that we were doing better in the middle of the stimulus-spending period than we are doing with the austerity program?
Over-educated? Really? Is it possible that somebody can become too educated? And wouldn't you want to listen to an educated person rather than some idiot? Apparently not, if you are a Democrat, and the educated person is saying something you don't want to hear while the idiot is selling shit that doesn't stink.
Quote:
4. Hold fast to an explanation. Stick to your rationale for what has happened and what is going to happen under your leadership. You must carry this through until the election (never say that things are improving because evidently they are not).
Expecting the empty suit (Obama) to stick with something is a futile endeavor. The guy flops around more than a fish on land. I agree, this is certainly one of Obama's big problems, but I don't think it will change.
Quote:
As I watch the Republican debates, I realize that we are on the brink of a crazy person running our nation. I sit in front of the television and shudder at the thought of one of these creationism-loving, global-warming-denying, immigration-bashing, Social-Security-cutting, clean-air-hating, mortality-fascinated, Wall-Street-protecting Republicans running my country.ct. Fight.
I almost agree with some of this. I don't like any of the Republican candidates. They are all too socially conservative for my tastes. However, his bucket list is rather absurd. There is nothing wrong with creationism-loving people. Many Democrats go to church. It is possible for people to remove their religious beliefs from their occupational duties. Although I believe that the climate is warming, it is a dynamic system after all, anthropogenic global warming has not been proven. Damning somebody that doesn't believe in an unproven theory is a bit shallow. Social security cutting? Really? Clean-air-hating? Really? The guy lost any credibility when he bashed the tea party for "having an organism" over mass murder, but his last paragraph really shows how out of touch with reality he is. I hope that the average Democrat is a little bit smarter, or at least a bit more open minded, than the pundit.

Too bad the choice always comes down to demo or repub. Whatever we get it's going to be just what we deserve.

And now it'll be time for the right wing to get in power. It's like a tag team of tyranny. "Look at the current administration, they are utter shits! We're not like that (forget about four years ago, that's pre-history)"
Four years later:
"The current administration are real shit! Vote for us, we're much better (four years ago? who even remembers that far back? What are you, some sort of terrorist?)

I'd say both. As long as he's not trying to make gravity illegal.

Yet more evidence that Carville is a scumbag.

It wasn't Wall Street that insisted bums get loans, it was politicians. And when the bums didn't pay it back Wall Street got hammered financially. The losses they suffered were epic.
Quote:
3. Make a case like a Democrat. While we are going along with the Republican austerity garbage, who is making the case against it? It's not the Democrats!
What austerity? The fucking budget has grown immensely.

This is actually quite telling. He is essentially conceding the the CBO, which is supposed to be completely non-partisan is in fact a mouth organ for the Dems, something I kinda suspected when the scored Obamacare as revenue neutral.

But Obama has held fast to an explanation. "Bush did it."

Hope away. I think they're as dumb as a sack of hammers. Carville is smart. He's just a lying cunt. They are not mutually exclusive.

huh? When has the choice ever come down to "demo or repub"? I can't remember a single election so far that has in my state, anyways.
You claim you don't vote because you are so unique that nobody represents your interests sufficiently to support them, and yet it seems like you think there's only two candidates to choose from. What's going on here?

What does this have to do with anything?
Of course you can and will believe in whatever you want. What is this "I don't believe... because it is a theory"? Is that what the poster you quoted said? Obviously it was not, instead he discussed a case where someone "doesn't believe in an unproven theory". What is the point of this post?

My point is that Bacchmen has no place to be making scientific claims, hell, it only shows her ignorance (in my eyes) if she doesn't think evolution (in at least SOME form) happened.

k, and what does that have to do with anything?
If your point is based on illogical arguments then it is not supported.
What is this "SOME form" of evolution you speak of? What are the forms of evolution.
Finally, why are you claiming someone shouldn't make scientific claims and then followingn that by saying that if she doesn't believe in some scientific claim that she's ignorant? Which is it? Either she should or shouldn't promote some particular understanding- seems like you've said it both ways.

Part of physics is the study of motion, so yes, physics has a lot to do with the study of weather patterns as well as providing the foundation used to model dynamic climate.
