"I got the moves like Jagger"
    #15080553 - 09/14/11 10:41 PM (12 years, 7 months ago)

I know some of you have heard this song. Some dude singing over some catchy beat where he says "I got the moves like Jagger, I got the moves like Jagger, I got the MOooOoOoOOves like Jagger." It's a poppy dance song, I heard it because the girlfriend is into the shit(her car, her music if we don't have the iPod). I don't necessarily like it, but I gotta admit it's catchy and was stuck in my head today.

I wouldn't go as far as to call myself a music buff, but the only reason I can think he says "I got the moves like Jagger" is he's referring to Mick Jagger, who is known for dancing around on stage and in videos and shit. I bet the younger people (probably my girl included) have no fucking idea who Mick Jagger is. Or maybe is there some other new Jagger I don't know about?

I know we have a lot of younger folks here with different music tastes, so honestly, tell me who the fuck is Mick Jagger, do you know? Without Googling it, do you have any idea who he is?

Yep, that is correct. I wonder how many people in the 18-23 range know that. Unless you really care about music I guess you really have no reason to know that unless your parents grew up with that music that taught you that stuff (my case).

Lots of people know about Mick Jagger.
Not to mention he became slightly relevant when Ke$ha mentioned him on her single 'Tic Tok'.

Hahaha, I asked my girl and she actually knew who it was. She said "I dunno is it McJagger?" Spelling's way off, but at least she knew the name. I'm impressed.

dear Gumby...

fuck man, I fucking hate that song. It does my head in. It's catchy? Do you realise there are people paid very good cash to engineer songs that are designed specifically to get stuck in your head? there isa  great market for fuckwit retards with no brain or sense to tell they don't actually LIKE the song, they just find it CATCHY, but they can't tell the difference, abd buy the shit up anyway. All commerical music is engineered. it's :ancientaliens:

i don't buy into any of it, i heard the song and wanted to kill everyone (I think it's my trigger word from my secret training with the KGB)

The song isn't supposed to make any sense, it was just some doumb phrase they coined up to throw over a retarded pop tune

mick jagger has no moves, and when he is coked up to the eyeballs he dances like an epileptic giraffe

I remember reading an article I think in Rolling Stone with an interview with a producer who writes the music for a lot of big-name pop artists, he is paid something like $100k per tune he dishes out to these people, and it's just a hobby of his, he is just naturally good at coining poppy tunes and spitting them out with production software.

I knew who mcjagger was since probably 13 and I'm only 20 so that was only 7 years ago.  That band I believe is maroon 5, I would actually argue that of all the poppy bands that are around today, that is the best.

Mick Jagger being a Mcdonalds menu item :lolsy:

Having "moves like Jagger" wouldn't necessarily be a good thing anyway.
