Wire geek needed(no offence meant)
    #1507917 - 04/30/03 02:06 PM (20 years, 10 months ago)

I am trying to wire my Dell ATX power supply to operate independantly of the comp as I am using it for a project. I need to know which wires to cross to give the power supply the signal it needs to activate, in essance tricking it into thinking it is getting a go ahead signal from the motherboard. Any help would be soooo appreciated!!!

Thank you anno, but there is no green wire, I will look on dells page, it is a dell power supply and try and get a schematic, but the power on to ground will do the trick?

Just got the schematic, the "power good" cable is orange pin # 5 But it has a "PS_On" cable also, when I jumped just the "power good" pin to ground I got nothing. Does the other line have anything to do with the circut?

According to this:

http://info.electronicwerkstatt.de/bereiche/stecker/atx_netzteil.html

you should connect the "PS_On" with "ground".
