i guessed that.
that white one is still out of the ordinary.
they are usually silverish (salicinus) or brownish (cyanopus).
this is a really broad generilization...
but that one is completely white!!

:awesomenod:

I've got the print underway. It is somewhat silver. It doesn't show well in the picture, but it is much lighter than most previous pictures from this thread.

I dropped the brightness and adjusted the contrast. Now it looks closer to how it did in person.

I guess the little guy was too young to make a print and went soggy while I was at work. Shitty, but nothing can be done for it.

You are better off cloning a specimen or using the spores from the spore print immediately after you print it.

Once those spores dry they will no longer germinate.

I don't agree. In my opinion, once Pluteus spores dry, they just fall into an extreme state of dormancy
and some (chemical) trigger substances are necessary to break dormancy.

I inoculated a very special agar medium  with Pluteus salicinus spores yesterday, and I hope for the best.

I almost forgot,my stem butts rotted, and turned to maggot food, and the smell was unbearable. Why are these so damn hard to cultivate?I'm just going to start printing all my finds, then I'll spread the spores all over the woods in my backyard from now on.

i think the best way to go about cultivating them is to make an LC from a fresh specimen...
just my opinion.
next one i find, that is what i am going to do.
i am sending prints to bfogg who swears he can get them going...fingers crossed!!

awesome blossom!! :awesomenod:

you going to spray wood-chips or logs?

i would boil some wood-chips (let them cool), spray them with lc and keep them in a tupperware in a dark place.
be sure to allow for FAE.
polyfill works well.
once the chips are completely colonized, place in a FC.

good luck man!!

i wish you success!! :super:
