 Summer Storm in Cali 90+degree weather & Hail

So suddenly my satellite starts losing connection and pounding hits my roof! Behold! A damn hail storm outside in 90+ degree weather. Wasn't expecting this, left my damn windows open on my car to cool down the inside for a long ride tonight and looks like it's gonna be a wet one.
Anybody else catching this storm surprise??

Lucky! I can see heatwaves going one direction and rain flying the other. The wind and rain is cooling it down right now though feels and smells really good!  call me weird but kinda smells like a brand new Halloween mask 
Can't wait for it to cool down. This thunder is awesome!

I stopped by the mt shasta dam or whatever it's called a couple months ago it's beautiful
Speaking of hippies, you ever head up to Ashland? I heard it's a hippie place but dunno someone told me it's really trashy....
The lighting was beautiful, I'm over the heat already though I want hoodie season

You seem surprised that hail happened when it was 90F+... so Shroomery weather nerd chiming in here...
Hail almost ONLY forms on hot days when conditions are right for a storm. Hail is produced by strong thunderstorms with updrafts that blow the rain up into the clouds where it freezes, falls, gets wet again then freezes again, the cycle repeats until the hail stone is too heavy to be blown back up and it falls to the ground. Sleet happens when rain falls through a pocket of warm air into freezing air.
It always bugs the hell out of me when it's almost cold enough to snow and we start to get sleet and people are all "oh noesss! it's hailing!"

yeah the south bay just had a huge lightening storm. completely tropical i would say considering that the temp is so high. great night to chill outside
