Our search for understanding gets us nowhere in reality.

In the end we are still the same as those around us. Walking talking human beings. What makes us so different than buddahs or bums. We are all the same. We are all one. When you grasp this you can grasp everything. Where does all this thinking, and understanding go in the end of our time? It goes nowhere, does nothing, and does not help us. Only our actions and influences are still present when we are gone. So stop thinking and start living. Get in touch with your instincts, because trying to understand is just a form of fear of the unknown. This is what I have learned for myself over the past year. I am done with thinking I have just started to live on my instincts, and live truely free for the first time. Peace-

but thats not how humans work. humans always seek to understand their reality. and if we didnt seek to understand, ignorance would prevail.......and it has for a very long time, thats how cunning people control the masses, they convince them not to question their reality.

What is required is a balance of both. To constantly strive for learning, not necessarily objective understanding, but to constantly seek to learn and evolve, to blend well with your environment. And at the same time, to be content, to simply be.. question your reality..but live in it with peace.

on the small scale, our search for understanding may indeed get us nowhere. On a collective scale, can you really tell me that our collective search for understanding has gotten us nowhere? Science is pushing the limits of time and space as we speak. I don't think you are done thinking, but enjoy living.

We are here just as much to live as to learn i'd say
So to not think scares me, cuz it sounds like thats promoting the ignorance which controls alot of society today, and i like to be different than the rest and be unique and an individual, and i wouldn't say this takes away from life, but still if theres too much of either: being living and ignorant or thinking and questioning .. then too much of any one thing is usually a bad thing, you need a little bit of everything that is in all foods out there to be completely healthy, so i think you should have a little bit of both
But to be honest im probably alot more of a thinker than liver, at the moment i dont have much of a life but things are changing every day and im going to change that soon and when i do i probably wont have as much time to think and question things i'd like to but i want to do alot of things and have alot of experiences to, so i want to have the time for the experiences and the time to analyze those experiences and my life & reality & the world and etc..., so basicaly i think you need a balance like Shroomism said

Whole9, there are enough anti-intellectual sentiments on these boards already. No need to further propogate ignorance. There's absolutely no reason why you can't 'feel' and at the same time seek knowledge. They are not mutually exclusive actions and to truly live a balanced life, I think you should partake in both. Please don't limit yourself.

Many of us here understand perfectly what you are trying to say but its not very convincing to someone who doesn't already understand and nobody will "get it" until they are ready. It is tempting to preach what you think you know but this does none of us any good. You cannot teach a man anything he must learn it for himself. I understand however that your intentions are pure

"nobody will "get it" until they are ready" wow, you guys must be so enlightened, to be able to come to the conclusion that "thinking gets us nowhere" fuck, i come to that conclusion at the end of every debate, after my intellectual energy is exhausted........its a very common thought, and Im sure everyone here has had it before.

I agree - thinking too much gets you nowhere. One can think all they want, but without action, the thoughts can't do much for you. Of course that goes the other way around as well - if you're constantly acting without thinking, you'll lose direction
