Does green mold start out bright white?

I soaked my cakes for about 13 hours and a day later this bright white stuff started to grow on one of them and I thought it was mycelium but it started to turn green, the same color of green myc. turns when it bruises or gets stressed but it has not gone away yet. does green mold start out white then turn green or could it be the myceliujm started growing and then mold took it over? I will try to get pics up soon.

Yes. Trich starts a bright white color before quickly turning to forest green (not blue like bruising). Trich can take over myc, especially if it's weaker myc after the first flush.

Yep that's what it is then cuz it wouldn't turn back to white. I thought it was just stressed from spraying but it won't go back to white and it won't grow any more. I'm now worried that I left it in the terrarium for too long and the others might start growing trich. now. it was in there for almost 3 full days but no other cakes look like they are starting to grow this stuff. Is there anything I can do to prevent the others from getting it?........I just remembered I touched this shit to try and see if it was bruising so I actually touched the trich. thinking it was myc. and trying to make it bruise so I could compare colors.

Make sure you are providing enough FAE, mold likes stale and stagnant air. Other than that, the only thing I can think of to help would be to wipe the walls of your FC down with 10:1 water:bleach solution which bleaches & inactivates mold spores. If you are using perilite in it the spores that land on it should stick to that for the most part but you should sterilize it after this grow. I'd oust the room a bit as well < some people frown on this as it's not exactly healthy for you to breath in.

OK thanks, I haven't seen any growing on all the other cakes yet. is it bad for the myc. to spray oust near the cakes. I have a fear about taking the cakes out of my clean room(it's a plastic tarp room) because I can almost guarantee that they will get contaminated because of my puppies and the food and water and whatever else they tear up or knock over back there. I don't have a fan that points out the window either just an ac unit pointing in, so is it bad to spray oust with the tote in the room?

Yeah, any kind of disinfectant that falls on to the cakes will harm them. You could trash bag the FC, spray, wait 10-15 mins, then remove it from the trash bags.

If I'm correct in assuming the green (trich) showed up after birthing/100% colonization - I would say it had been there since inoculation, colonized throughout the substrate, and the fae triggered it to sporulate (turn green). Sometimes trich will just chill alongside the desired mycelium until it gets some fresh air and then explode - it's easy to miss it until you've 'payed the piper' a few times.
I would do as Meetzu says and get it out of there and watch the others as they may share the same fate. If they weren't contaminated at inoculation like that one, you should be fine - as long as you keep up with fae. Give 'em the sniff test next time you spray em - if they smell like dirt it's probably gonna be a bummer for you bro.
A fully colonized cake/substrate is pretty resistant against contams and theres no real need for a fruiting chamber to be sterile anyway so if it scares ya rinse off the cakes in the sink and clean your terrarium (or room) with a hosedown and a lil soap if you wish. Good luck!

No. I went through a whole flush then soaked for 13 or 14 hours for a second flush and it showed up a day after soaking and putting it back in the tote. I thought it was just myc. because it started growing out of the verm. like I expected the myc. to do in the beginning but never did. I believe I was ignorant in thinking that 100% colonized cakes can not get contaminated and used a strainer as weight to hold them under water that was sitting outside for a long time and I never sanitized it. I believe that is what gave it trich, but the other cake that I soaked with it never was effected. I got about 50 fresh grams from this cake before soaking.
