Bad Mushy?

Well, i guess im just gonna start by saying that im a newbie and i was hoping the more 'experienced' counter part could help me... My first fruiting cake, has 'given birth' to a nice size mushroom (I was Soo proud of it when i saw it... I now know what it feels to be a mother.. :laugh:.lol) But, i think a tragedy has  overcame it... when i harvested it, i noticed a greenish tinge on the top of my cake.. so naturally i  threw out the cake, but.... i kept the mushroom, Is it(mushroom) contaminated and unsafe to eat now?   
P.s. i found out that there was a 'bruising' test to be used on the cake with a swab... did i throw this cake out for no reason it it WAS bruised?

If it was bruised you just wasted a cake, but I guess you'll never know.

Thanks for the pic seeker, now im 'pretty' sure that it was just bruising... but i still have 2questions if you guys could bear with me...
1) is there any way to KNOW if the mushroom i picked is 'infected'(other than eating it?)
2)Can the cakes get bruised even if i don't touch them?

All help is GREATLY appreciated (I've already thrown out 4 bruised cakes (i think) now.. :frown:    )

i think if you rub it with a tissue if its contam itll rub off, if its bruising it wont

A cake can turn the bluish tinge which looks like brusing if it is too dry (mycelium needs water and is dying), but if it was in a humid enough place that it fruited, I don't know why it would blue from lack of hydrations...... I wouldn't be concerned about the mushroom containing contams.... It was probably brusing.... because you would know if it was a contam (my contams have been really green and gross and smelly.... also my contams have been "powdery")... also, it's rare to get contams after the cake is full of mycelium.

1. Your mushroom is in all likelyhood fine. Most common green molds (which you probably don't have) are harmless to humans
