Democracy Or Aristocracy, Which Is Better?
    #15042344 - 09/07/11 11:37 AM (12 years, 6 months ago)

Which form of government do you favor and why? Do you support a democracy? Do you support aristocracy? What reason do you have for supporting either one?

I support the middle one.

freedom within societies is related to the shit they've been through. if democracy breaks down, there will be many people wanting something different.

seems societies form and grow and fall and crumble and new societies are born out of dead ones and societies influence each other and blah blah blah

i guess the crux of it is that thought is naturally divergent. as we must cope with all the changes in the world our society must change but in which direction does it change? one thought one way one thought another and a crack emerges

The more democratic a society is the better, IMO. I don't buy this tyranny of the majority crap.

A good democracy or a good aristocracy. Either can go bad, either can be great. Most are neither.

I'll take a smart king over a nation of idiots anyday. Likewise, I'll take a nation of rational decisions over a tyrannical superstitious idiot ruler anyday. It all comes down to the cleanliness of the architecture, not always the base on which the building is founded.

it would be nice to have a benevolent dictator. I cant actually imagine anything better. An intelligent, benevolent dictator who only wanted to govern heaven on earth, and gained esteem from the lack of pain on earth
