Ive have been working with PE recently and as i was g2g some jars i thought i would use some poooorly poured MEA dishes (i waited to long to pour, so they are chunky)and place a colonized rye kernel on it to start isolating. Here are the pics, my question is, with growth this rhizomorphic, how do you determine sectors?

Nice dishes!

From what I read in Stamets' TMC, he doesn't seem to make a distinction between sectors within rhizomorphic growth, which those dishes appear to be 100%.

The only distinction I remember is between tomentose (cottony) and rhizomorphic, and not any further within the rhizomorphic growth itself.

Sorry if I'm telling you what you already know, wish I could say for certain. Hopefully someone more experienced will come along and lay down the knowledge.

nope rhizomorphic growth will still sector itself out until you get to a monoculture.
