Nothing wrong with eating watermelon rind. Yes it is quite nutritious. Only issue with it I can see is that the skins/rinds of fruits have a higher fat content in order to retain moisture in the pulp/flesh of the fruit. The problem arises with all the crap we spray on our fruits and veggies, many of these chemicals are fat soluble and a simple surface washing will not remove them. A thick skin like watermelon will retain a large quantity of the pesticides sprayed on it. So if you like eating the rind, go organic and pesticide free.

An interesting thing to note: it is believed eating large quantities of watermelon rind can enhance sexual function and is sometimes prescribed as a natural remedy for erectile dysfunction. Researchers in Texas are riding that one.

I eat almost 100% organic  and that includes meat that is OG grass fed and free range.
