Mycena alcalina / Amanita sp / Polyporus badius / UID's & more
    #15017702 - 09/02/11 01:36 PM (12 years, 5 months ago)

What i believe to be Mycena sp.

1.) Mycena Alacalina?

2.) Xerula furfuracea (Thanks fungi01!) UID / Bee being taken over by fungus! / Very tall, often found in clusters, smooth brown cap with a darker center.

3.) Very small and yellow / found growing in large clusters on stumps and bases of downed trees

4.) Amanita sp.

5.)Phlebia incarnata (ID from fungi01) UID / Rhodotus palmatus? (without the ridges on cap) / found near stream on decaying wood

6.) What i believe to be Polyporus Badius?

Lastly, another deer photo. (got out of car and before i stepped foot into woods i was spotted! Talked to the deer while having enough time to unzip my bag, take out my camera, and adjust the settings. Deer seem to be soo photogenic!

Thanks for viewing!
All help highly appreciated.

I ate the caps of #2 last year and they were very good.  The common name for it is Rooted Collybia.  The scientific name change over 1/2 dozen times since the Audubon Guide came out.

Good knowledge, however, i will not be planning to try any time soon.
I have spotted these more than any mushroom this year.

Any ideas for #3?
Here are some more pictures from a different patch: (Pictures do not really do justice without a gill shot but i can say they are creamy yellow gills)
