Anyhow, if you get light and oxygen to the underside, sure it can pin. If you had the cakes directly on the perlite, this could happen easily.

Don't sweat it. Pick them carefully. Flipping the cake won't do anything.

it is kinda weird though, they have been resting on the jar lids since birth.

after i flipped them i discovered a bunch of little guys that i couldn't see before. it's like finding money in the pockets of an old jacket.
