What the hell? [colonization has stopped]
    #1501714 - 04/28/03 08:11 PM (13 years, 7 months ago)

ok so AFOAF has these things, and these things he tells me were colonizing at a VERY slow pace, but then it warmed up and they were speeding up, but now they stopped completely.

help?

Most times colonization slows toward 90%. How long has it been since it stopped?

Colonization that slows can be a sign of contamination; If one is not visible it might still be bacterial.  Water content could also be off; either too high,  too low, or un-mixed can cause this to happen.  It's not good, and not really worth tweaking around with PC'd grain/grain flour to get it to work at this point.

Be careful with it if you decide to throw it out, treat it like a piece of stinky dog shit.

Hard to tell from your statement exactly what is colonizing, BRF+verm or grain, or what. It's common for BRF to stall.......sometimes inverting the jar and allowing the cake to slide away from the bottom, exposing the uncolonized bottom to the air inside the jar helps. Or, if you have a filter, open the innoc holes to the air, and let some new air into the jar through the filter, at the same time.
