Adapter for Plug American->German (pre:Vicks CMH Filters)
    #1500214 - 04/28/03 08:55 AM (20 years, 10 months ago)

Hello.
Finally I got my Vicks Cool Mist Humidifier V400 from the USA (I live in Europe).
I got it from Ebay and I asked the person to put some extra filter in the package. I got it some days ago.
On the top of the filter-package there stands "Fits:" and then three pictures of Humidifers, but noone looks like my V400, but on the front of the package there is a V400. Also on the package there stands "Model K14-3W", whatever that means...
The filters match on the humidifer but are not really tight and fixed.
Are these the right filters or do I need other ones?
I couldnt find a pic on the web...

No it's not a very tight fit. By the way the little white cage that holds the polyfil and the charcol filter comes apart so you can rinse them out and not have to buy replacements.

The filtration those things provide is mediocre at best anyway; When cleaned out during regular usage, a simple soak in 3% peroxide or 10% bleach [rise afterward with water, pref.] is sufficient to keep them in order. IMO it is more efficient to focus on the cleanliness of the surrounding air itself [room filter, eg].
Good luck!

Thank You for your answers...

I have another question:

My humidifer has a plug that fits to an american socket.
Here in Germany I can't find an adapter that makes it fit to an German socket.
Does anyone know an internet store that sells American->German-adapter?
Or are there some on ebay.com? What words shall I search for?
I would be very pleased for your help...

@ zeronio
yes, conrad is my first choice in questions like this.
they just have adapters german->american, german->gb etc. but not american->german, what i need...
they told me there is just no demand here in germany...

@ mycosaurus
yes, i think, this is what i need.

or should i try just cutting of the american plug and applying a german one?
what about the voltage, watt and ampere? i don't really know anything of these...
