Whats up guys.. I just grabbed a D3000. I am pretty psyched.

Was debating between this and the rebel XS.. went back and forth a lot..ended up with this lol.

I plan on using it for some serious pin porn photos

Nice  Ken Rockwell is an avid fan of this camera (although he's puked upon by serious photographers; haters gonna hate). What lenses do you have to go with it?

Came with a 18-55mm 3.5-5.6g part of the lil kit.

Got the kit for $430 shipped from an authorized dealer through eBay. About $15 cheaper than the cheapest price around (Amazon).

It's pretty sweet. I've been using it mostly on auto today getting a feel for it. Learning about all the settings. The guide mode is more annoying then useful IMO.

Nice  You might have to conjure up a solution for macro photography if you're serious about that pin porn remark, as the 18-55 is not specifically fit for macro photography. But a simple screw-on macro lens can be a sufficient solution, at least for time being.

I dunno what I was reading but they made it sound like the more exensive nikon dslr's didnt work good for macro. This camera is popular for dental cams

The more expensive ones are full frame, and with full frame, you don't have the crop factor which artificially increases the focal length of the lens. Sort of. Perhaps that's what they mean. But still, photographers have shot excellent macro stills with full frame 35mm cameras for more than 70 years.
