The Epic Life
    #1499948 - 04/28/03 05:11 AM (13 years, 7 months ago)

Why do so many find their lives so much more epic than anyone else's?

Are they more special than the rest of us? Why?

Please explain with double negatives.

I took a child psychology course and a lot of teenagers feel their lives are epic due to things like personal fable and imaginary audience. As we mature through puberty we become aware of ourselves as social beings for the first time and think that we are the center of all attention because of an inability to take perspectives. That's why teenagers are always saying 'Nobody understands me!' Rock and roll music and drug experimentation follow and they end up at message boards like these.

I cannot speak for everyone but from the perspective I have an "epic" life is the only one worth living.I suppose that while young the lack of "epic" experience expands lesser events to "epic"proportions. But in the end the story of our life should read like an epic tale, too many people live in self induced obscurity.
Sclorch you almost sound bored and jealous  perhaps it is time for you to take on an "epic" adventure  Bon Chance  :grin:WR
PS an "epic" life is one not, not lived(there is your double negative pard )

whiterasta:  Sclorch you almost sound bored and jealous  perhaps it is time for you to take on an "epic" adventure

I won't let this turn into a battle of "who's life is more exciting than the other's"... but I'm quite satisfied with the my saga thus far.  I'm definitely not bored (just look at my post ratio -600 per year- much lower than most of the people that frequent this board.).

i think its way cooler if your just some lone alienated wolf in the universe...wandering aimlessly, and your existance has no bearing on anything.

cooler than those who suffer from the jesus complex.

cooler because you gain the ability to define your reality however the fuck you want to.
