I was talking with my friends last week during Hanson's last start about how shitty his pitching motion looked. It looks like all of the torque is going into his shoulder and elbow (basically the opposite of Lincecum). Like he doesn't use any other part of his body to pitch, only his arm. And now he's on the DL again. No structural damage but shoulder injuries are the pitchers death knell.

Yeah, it's a shame. Hopefully Delgado will pitch better than his first time out. Should be a good game tonight.
On a different note, I am so glad the Braves didn't get Beltran. He hasn't done anything since the Giants acquired him. Bourn has been pretty good, and we still have all our prospects on the farm.

Fuck yes dude. Holy fuck yes. I was at the game. It was fucking amazingly epically epic awesomeness.

It's still early after the trades IMO. If Atlanta plays San Fran in the playoffs don't you think it could go either way, a lot of one run games?

No homerism I think the Braves would beat them. They're a much better team. The Giants have been playing over their heads all season. They cannot hit at all.

That's awesome. I am very envious. I was watching at home and about changed the channel after the 7th. Glad I stuck it out.

T'was awesome. The crowd was really loud considering the attendance. Maybe the best crowd at the best game of the year. Wilson was rattled by all the noise.

Does anyone think Jered Weaver will ever have another year like the contract year he is having this year? Read that he gave his hometown SoCal a discount to stay, I just think this year is a fluke but not like he is going to turn into A.J. Burnett or anything.

What you're seeing this year from him is a career year in combination with fantastic luck. He should continue to be a very good 1/2 in the rotation type of pitcher with ERAs closer to 3 and 4 than 2.

Yeah i don't think he's gonna have another year quite like this one. Will he still be someone you don't want to face in a series, especially if your the showboating type?
Yeah, he'll still be up there.
Love his contract signing though. He didn't let his agent push him around into a bigger contract just so they both could get more money. He likes the Angels, their organization and the city and fans, so he decided to take the pay cut and stay rather then seek out a more lucrative deal. Plus, he's still got Trout and Trumbo in the near future who will help out the team overall, good playoff chances.

I don't think Trumbo is all that good.

He's all but got ROY in the bag in the AL....I think he has a lot of potential, he's basically carrying the aging team as a rookie, few more years of maturing he's got potential.

Neither are having AMAZING years, and everyone knows you need that to be ROY as a pitcher. They will most likely take 2nd/3rd, unless someone like Pineda throws a perfect game or Ackley goes on a tear at the end of the season.
For the N.L it's gonna be Freeman, and like the A.L, two pitchers will be 2nd/3rd. Kimbrel/Worley.

Excuse me for being unimpressed by a first baseman with an OPS of .770 and mediocre, at best, defense. What Hellickson and Nova have done is far more impressive, pitching in the AL East. At any rate it is crazy to say Trumbo has anything sewn up.

Which is a much different position from saying he has it sewn up, no?

I said in the preseason that Nova was going to be better than Burnett. I also said the Burnett deal was bad from the beginning.
