My chocolates have melted together!
    #14992573 - 08/28/11 05:25 PM (12 years, 7 months ago)

hey there strangrs, i've done a large amount of searching and can't find anything to answer this question. so here goes!

i have 3 chocolates each with about 1.5 grams of magic in them. two of them are in their own ice cube molds and one is on it's own not in the plastic mold. all three chocolates are wrapped in tin foil , inside a plastic bag, inside of a tupperware case in my freezer. Well, hurricane irene hit and i'm out of state. Odds are that my power is out.

my concern is that they will melt all over the place. i know this isn't the end of the world, but i was intending on splitting them with a friend, one and a half chocolates each. i dont have much hope that the ones in the molds will stay put as they are probably tilted.

so here is my question: is there any way for me to have an idea of what dosage i'm going to be giving myself after remolding and freezing them again? If i pool the chocolate together , in time will the mushroom powder sink to the bottom?

I'm stressing out over here worried that when i dose with my friend we will have no idea how much we're both individually consuming., so if any of you have any advice for me it is GREATLY appreciated.

as always, PLUR

melt the chocolate, stir and dry, than divide by three?

i was thinking of doing this, drying them into relatively shallow sheets. i would hate to do this though, and then find that the pieces are drastically unevenly dosed, the powder distributed unevenly.

Or you would just weigh the total chocolate weight, and then divide it by 3.  Then cut small pieces off the big chunk and keep adding more until you've reached 1/3 of the total chocolate weight on the scale.  Then eat it.

Edit: Divide by 2 if you're splitting with one friend.

so should uneven powder distribution in the chocolate not really be a concern?

Not if they were made properly.

If they were powdered, and not chopped into pieces, it should act the same way as a solute in a solvent.

they should be effectively powdered, if not very small pieces. Is there any thing else i can do that  i may not even have considered?

am i over-thinking this?

yeah i would imagine weighing out the chocolate and dividing it up should work just fine as someone posted before me.
