EDIT: AHHH There is an arts and crafts depot store at my local mall. Is there any difference between Easy Felt and any other felt? I just need to know what to look for. And thanks for the monotub tek. I was about to ask where to get polyfill (polyester fiber fill).
All you need is felt! Imma' happy tripper.
click the easy felt link in my signeture, it shows what I have used like a trusted brands list.

That logic makes no sense. It's just the fact that it isn't a good grade filter. Yeah, it can work. But not as well as others. And I found one of the others so I'm good. I'll post the jars when (& if) they look sexy.
SurReality, you used it on your FC for cakes? Nice. You know what I have? I have holes. No filter in mine.
Only 2 cakes:
Dry weight: 8.5 Grams!
You sir, have failed your point!

that sentence is hard to read, but if you are using the term "casing" and saying that you had no idea that casing or casings could produce bulk then your still using the term incorrectly.
Casing is a non nutritiveminus the trace minerals layer that is applied to a substrate to provide a micro climate when native environments are less than optimal, Cubensis do not require a casing layerthis of course applies to Ps. cubensis.
the mono is a container just like a trey is a container not a casing.
when you do casings you are in the lab pasteurising casing material to layer on the sub.

Postal Tyvek filter for a cake FC is kinda pointless. Please don't insist on acting like a child and take the tip dude. I know you didn't try to show off. Don't freak out mann! You made a point, and a couple people contradicted it. No biggie.

You're the man! I seem to have everything but gypsum. Can't wait till I get to test some subs. This will for sure be one of the 1st. Cause you're that convenient.

see cotton was used as a filter material in the 1800's but we don’t really use it any more.
Times change and materials become better and cheaper, there is just no reason why anyone cant afford a couple of bucks for a piece of Easy Felt that is just as big as a tyvek envelope.
its not that hard to spend $1-$2 on superior filter material.
having the Federal Postal worker bring you free postal Tyvek is just
it is widely accepted that postal Tyvek is inferior
it is widely accepted that Tyvek sleeves and painter cloth suite material and Polyfil is the base line for filter material.
that leaves easy felt and SFD from a vendor at the top.
SFD from a vendor carries a μm pore size rating at .45 and .02 so for that reason SFD from a vendor come with that as a guarantee.
Waaaay at the bottom is postal Tyvek, sponges, make up pads, band aids...etc etc.

also i'm sure your filters do work 'superior'. again my point is that they are easy to find, and free. i've never had an issue with it with cakes, but i can see why you would make sure to get a good filter with a monotub since it has to recolonize which makes it more susceptible to contamination.

Dude, I don't even use a filter in my cake FC like you do. Never had a contam. It's... well POINTLESS! Once again. And not all post office's are the same :P
I'm sorry. It just doesn't seem like I got my point across to you on your prove.

i know a filter is not necessary with a shotgun fc, but as you can see i don't really have a drill so i cut slits on each side. i figure its a good idea to put a filter on it since they are larger holes cut into the box rather than a bunch of tiny holes drilled
