dood you should read my post, AGAIN i'm not saying either filter is superior they both work... and the only "proof" you are giving is you stating that it is proven. you saying that it is proven is not actually proof unless there is some research backing it.

if total's pics of at least a dozen jar all contam free isn't proof enough that tyvek works fine, then i guess i'm just playing wall-ball with this discussion because i don't know any better proof:rolleyes:

*Tyvek is functional and cheap or free. However, synthetic filter disks last for many years and thousands of uses. Tyvek tends to get ripped at the edges of the lid, often resulting in only one use. It can also twist, making the lid very hard to get off later for G2G or other procedures. The time spent cutting tyvek to shape each time will easily outweigh any cost advantage. Even though I sell tyvek on my website, I still prefer filter disks.

RR is indeed a trusted cultivator. I wouldn't doubt them at all.

Postal Tyvek works.

Easy Felt which is a SFD works.

Postal Tyvek, for a number of previously mentioned reasons is inferior.

Easy Felt which is a Synthetic Filter Disk is superior to Postal Tyvec.

The proof can be observed by understanding that SFD's are superior to postal Tyvek
and the fact that I have done hundreds of jars with Easy Felt without 1 contam,
others in the Easy Felt thread are posting 40/40 contam free jars.

The only two contaminated spawn jars I have ever had are jars that I used Tyvek as a filter.

Postal Tyvek doesnt last as long as Easy Felt Proven!

Postal Tyvek is inferior to a vendor sold SFD Proven!

Easy Felt is a SFD made from ironed out polyfill and closely resembles a vendor sold SFD Proven!

Easy Felt is more versatile and provides better GAE/GE/FAE.Proven!

Easy Felt is superior to postal Tyvek.Proven!

any experienced cultivator could plainly see why Easy Felt would be superior to postal Tyvek.

We dont need a spectromagnifico deeeliograph analyser to observe this.

I have plenty of real life "proven" research that tyvek is proven...
Im a firm believer that its hated on because its free...
In my opinion, the only thing yours has over tyvek is re-useability...

I just dont like the fact that you guys say tyvek doesnt work, when it works great...

And ill take some pics of my new jars...
Past few months i got a fiskars circle cutter, and started doing nice jar filters, with no overhang...

The fact that the ol'lady has to cut tyvek and actually do something, is no problem with me... :gethigh:

I gotto throw my :2cents: in.....:stoner:

if you are filtering then its all about micron size and sfd are .2 micron, most tyvek is what a 1 micron??  sounds inferior to me. :yesnod:

http://www.shroomery.org/forums/showflat.php/Number/12543108

there is your micron chart/proof. :blazed:

if you can find out the micron of tyvek and show me the link I'll switch to tyvek right now IF its even close to SFDs and not that ez felt crap either

EZ felt is fine for fruiting monos but I wouldnt use it (or polyfill/tyvek) on my jar lids :nono:

I have 100+ sheets of tyvek boris sent me years ago that I have absolutely no use for :shrug2:

http://www.disposablecoveralls.org/tyvek-disposable-coveralls-reviews/

.5 micron is the best (dupont tyvek suits) I could find

most postal tyvek is between 30-60 micron

I'll stick to .2 sfd. :yesnod:

I just dont like when you say we are spreading misinformation.. because we all are AMU, Because we know

nobody is saying tyvek doesnt work, its just not as good as SFDs, and I dont feel right telling people to use something thats not as good as something else.

a kia sportage is a car, so is a dodge viper, they both work BUT if the prices are reasonable for both Imma push others on the "better" car.  just my outlook on the whole tyvek vs SFDs.:eyeball:

Ive spend $12 on SFDs and I never will have to buy more because they are good forever if you dont puncture them.:super:

Ive used tyvek and I might as well have had nothing on my lids cus every jar contamed every time

I'll never suggest it but I will say if thats all you got use what works. :yesnod:

lets keep it chill :levitate:  we all know how to grow with what we have.

Who said it doesn't work? The only thing that Barakanaden and I are claiming that it is inferior. This discussion has been blown out of proportion by really bad prove. I told you so doesn't work here. There are experts all over the place that tell you what is going on.

Not saying you're wrong. We're saying, it is inferior.

I would never question your experience totes.
It does work. Its an okay GE filter at best.
It lacks in GAE/FAE and I am very curios to what a pore size reading would rate.

you could add to that GAE/FAE capabilities.

I think the only reason people use Postal tyvek is because its perceived to be free.

I'd bet the farm that if a Cultivator were to be presented with a stack of

Easy Felt and a stack of postal Tyvek

at the Post Office not one would choose postal Tyvek. :naughty:

Easy Felt can be used just as you use postal Tyvek. No need to attach anything,

I would say it works, but how great is the question?

I think an experiment or 2 should be conducted by a
couple willing and objective qualified Cultivators or TC's.

I will make a thread soon in an effort to collect more data.

My presto seal gave up the ghost just after I bought AA sterilizers and an AA 941. I was planning on replacing the seal because that thing worked great, but the AA's were, just, better. I use tyvek because it works great and it's free, not because I condone some other filter. I'm sure that a filter that is better than tyvek works, but tyvek works better for me because it has performed without fail and is plentiful for me on hand.

Trojan condoms may work better for some, but for me,I don't use them at all. Go ahead and promote your Trojans, but it will fall on deaf ears for me as I'm a confirmed believer that I won't switch for NOTHING!
