First grow. Couple questions. Edit: PINS!! 1

What's up shroomery?
So I have a couple questions on my first grow. I bought a kit from a non-vendor before I found the shroomery, but I did buy spores from the Hawkseye. I will defiantly be giving Ryche more business. Don't worry though, I am currently buying pieces to do things on my own from now on.
So anyways, I have 8 out of 12 jars showing myc growth. 2 I lost to mold and two are showing no growth. It has been 12 days so far. The jars are only showing maybe 10% growth and I think these are smaller than 1/2 oint jars, so it is really slow. I am guessing it is just the strain maybe or the pre-sterilized jars. 4 are PE and 4 are B+.
I did make some mistakes. I stupidly didn't shake the spore syringe. I guess I got a little excited. The temp was too high for the first four days 85+. I since lowered the temps, and still have growth luckily.
So am I on the right track as long as there is growth and no contams? Also I do have a syringe of Treasure Coast, can I reinoc the two jars not showing growth for the heck of it or just save it and start over?
Thanks everyone. Pics when I start fruiting and won't give business to the non sponsored vendor.

How are you doing inoculations? You shouldn't be getting any mold in jars if they were properly sterilized and you have clean method (of course non sponsor could have done poor job).
As long as the the mycellium is growing with no contams your are good. It takes about 5-6 days for spores to germinate and show growth. keep temps around 75. If growth stops or doesn't finish within 3 weeks you probably have hidden contams or not enough holes drilled in lid

I guess that would help. I thought the original post was too long already. I used 90% alcohol to wipe everything, wore gloves, no airflow. I did not flame sterilize the needle though. I know stupid. Hence, why I will do everything myself the right way now.
Edit: The holes came pre-drilled, 4 of them. The verm layer seemed kinda thin though. Also, I didn't shake of the syringe, so I am guessing very uneven spore distribution. Kinda surprised I made it this far.

Of course it's best to shake the syringe up, but there are millions of spores in there. Just the motion of inoculation should have stirred them up enough. I would'nt worry Good luck!

Shaking the syringe shouldnt be an issue, there are thousands of spores that you cant see mixed in everywhere aside from the clumps. Yes you should have flame sterilized. I like flaming the needle and thrusting it through the filter/injection port immediately, then let it cool for about 10 seconds with needle inside jar. Then inject, and move on to next jar.
Do the jars you have have no filter, just a verm layer? If so that is pretty shitty. You should have polyfill, tyvek, or silicon dab to shoot through (tyvek you will need some micropore tape to cover syringe hole).
Spore inoculations are fortunately forgiving as long as syringe was from sponsor and clean.

The jars were shipped with tinfoil on it. I removed the tinfoil to innoc, I am pretty sure it is just shoot down through the verm layer. Quote:

Just a verm layer, I am guessing I will just go with this with good vibes and see how it goes. Patience is killing me.

My recommendation would be save that other syringe, no point in wasting it to inoculate jars that might end up showing growth or might be contaminated due to what sounds like a lack of sterile technique.
Search "glove box" in the bar up top and you will find good threads on building one, you can go as simple or all-out as you want, and you will eventually need one if you want to move past BRF cakes and on to grains. Might as well make one now, they aren't expensive.
As mentioned above, you need something covering those holes in the jar lids. If you can make your own jar lids I would recommend that, check out http://www.themadseason.com/ and look for synthetic filter discs which you can use to cover a breather hole for gas exchange, and you could cover your inoculation holes with micropore tape or stuff with polyfill rather than relying on only a verm layer to protect your investment.
Good luck, keep reading.

You do NOT need to (and most experience growers don't) re-tape or add any type of filter over their inoculation holes. The dry verm barrier works fine all by itself.

Just want to give an update. Three showed no growth, I was wrong in the original post.
The fastest colonizer is at 50% now and the slowest is at 30%. Myc growth really started to accelerate lately. This is 3 weeks after innoc now.

What the crap two were 90% colonized and then mold appeared today? Down to five now. It has been four and a half weeks and only one is completely colonized. Man did I screw this up.

Are you moving your BRF jars a lot, if so you may be disturbing the dry verm layer and letting contaminates in

I must be or something. The dry verm layer is still about a half an inch thick the myc isn't colonizing that at all.

Here we go I got a picture.

Looks like some strong rhyzomorphic growth in there .... as well as some sporulated trichoderma

That's what I don't understand though. Where did that come from? It appeared in the last three days.

Trichoderma is white, typically "cottony", until it sporulates (green)

Oh wow. I did not know that, so I could have had it the whole time and what I thought was myc wasn't.

Well it looks like there might be some myc in there, you got a lot of rhizos.
