hi! i need quick help. i had to move back to my parents apartement and so i had to move my shrooms to my friends place. now it appears the second flush is bringing me some good size shrooms(i had only tiny before) so i really need to make clones from these but the problem is that i can make it after 24hours and he picked them like yesterday. i told him to put them in the. fridge today. is it possible that i can take some shroom tissue and clone them tomorrow or are they useless already? pic:

You can clone on agar (obviously) and if it appears to contain additional unwanted molds, you can simply transfer the good mycelium to produce a clean isolate. So yes you can still clone. Keep them in a fridge until ready to start procedure.

Agar can be found in asian markets or health food stores. Possibly in a regular grocery store.

most probably asian food markets as the gentleman above me mentioned. I wouldn't waste time on starting a LC from that. the chances of it containing contaminations are very high, and you will just end up with a bad LC. You don't want that.
PS you can use very small jars as petri dishes. Check Doc-T posts for a review on that technique.

this will get you started with agar. Grocery Store Agar Tek
There are some examples on many different styles of lids in my Eazy Felt Tek
Easy Agar Dishes
petri Jars I use the same configuration for Petri Jars as I do for Spawn Jars,

sometimes I use Plastic Jars too, its just a deep petri to me. drill a 1/2 hole dead center slap an Easy Disk on an BANG!

the glass jars were $4 and the plastic was $2 the easy felt is $1-2$
depending on price and availability in your area you could easily get set up for agar + dishes for $10 r so
hope this helps you.

because of the 2nd flush gives you some good sized mushroom it does not mean if you clone them you'll get the same sized mushrooms. After you dunk the cakes the mushrooms grow bigger. But you can clone them though they are nice!

what? a cloned mushroom has the exact same genetic make-up as the mushroom you cloned from, so yes, you would get the same sized mushrooms as long as its enviroment stayed the same aswell.

Cloning will also give you better flushes and most likely a better pinset and a more even canopy.
clone from the middle of clusters and from small pins when you can.
the idea being that younger tissue is better.

Incorrect, the torn up landscape of a sub after the first flush would minimize desirable pinning spots and that could lead to fewer fruits but much larger than the original cloned fruit.

True.

False

Like the post above stated second, or third flushes, will generally produce larger fruits.
Even the size of the fist flush, comparatively to the first flush of the cloned culture, Has a number of factors that will determine fruit size.
IME, one of the biggest factors is pin set. I have had ridiculous pin sets that produce allot of smallish mushrooms on a first flush. I have also had clones, not mono-cultures, that produce Ok pin sets, but the fruits are much larger.
I understand that you stated "as long as its enviroment stayed the same aswell" and yes those environmental conditions will effect pin set, essentially "reproducing" the same size fruits.
So you're partially correct, but the idea that a second flush monster, will always produce that size fruits, doesn't jive. It's highly probable that it will produce those fruits on the second flush.
I hope this makes sense
Dam Barak, you beat me to it!
