OK, you are looking for a "miracle ware" microwave steamer container. I found one at a discount store for $2.99. It comes in three peices and looks like this:
It seals quite nicely
Then you remove the bottom piece, and fill with "Ice Melt" ($3.99) or like brand in your area it is now on sale EVEYWHERE due to the season and will run you ALOT less then "damp rid".
Finally, add your fresh edible mushrooms and close
Just thought I would post as you don't have to mess with cutting screen, and making different levels, ect. It is also easier to wash out, and not a hassle to replace the desiccant.

This brand "Road Runner" ice melt consists of: Sodium Chloride, Calcium Chloride, Magnesium Chloride, and Potassium Chloride. The container purchased is 12 lbs. I could install a fan, but I get hella results with this, plus im not in a hurry and like things simple

Good job on that find Pitdawg....

PitDawg: I'm trying to speculate a cheaper drying chamber.
What about: Strainer, tray or plate, some of that IceMelt or similar dessicant, and some cling-wrap.
Strainer and small tray and cling-wrap most people have at home, so need for purchases... just buy dessicant.
Put dessicant in tray, put mushrooms in strainer, cling wrap the top of the strainer and the entire thing hehe!
May be a little messy, but cheap. Haven't tried it though, but atm I have nothing to dry. Someone willing to try it out?

you need good airflow around the little guys for them to dry properly, it's ass simple as a screen and a fan or airvent, once they are reasonably dry...all shriveled, then you're good to go with that method....look into cooling rack, like for cakes and cookies....usualy 3 to a pack and pretty damn cheap....it will keep them off the bottom of the container and you can use a much larger container...a 12 gallon rubermaid....

For those having trouble finding a good desiccant. I found a 9 pound jug of pure Calcium Chloride ice melt pellets at Amazon.com called "Pellets of Fire CP9 Snow and Ice Melter Calcium Chloride Pellets".
It has none of the undesirable stuff in it and it comes with free shipping.
