I can't believe the quantity of mushrooms that were out today... Not a huge variety of species but I've never seen them so prolific in my life. Pretty awesome stuff. A few have me a little hung up though.
*Sorry for the lack of pictures in the field, batteries died only minutes after taking it out... Bah.
#1.

My guess is Amanita flavorubescens, but I'd like to have this confirmed as the large mature specimens I found seemed to look quite a bit different than the younger ones, like this one.
#2

Pretty awesome Russula emetica. Kind of thought this one might be an edible when I first found it. Oops. Of course I always check before doing anything retarded.

The other picture I took of this one didn't come out to good, which is a shame because its a beautiful dark purple mushroom with very white pores. I'm thinking Tylopilus plumbeoviolaceus? Very cool mushroom, hopefully that shitty picture is enough for an ID.

Tylopilus ballouii?? These things were everywhere. Some were incredibly large.
Also, found a massive amount of wild grapes. Me and my girlfriend smelled them from about 100 feet away and searched all through the woods until we found them, then stocked up! Great day.
PS, sorry for the shitty quality pics. I think some settings on my camera got switched when I changed out the batteries. Not sure what's up with that.

1 You got it..A. flavorubens. 2 Russula. Probably not emetica. Trust me...there are a million red Russulas and you CAN'T tell them apart. 3 Very cool mushroom. The tiny white pores make me think Gyroporus sp. Just a guess. 4 Boletellus chrysenteroides

Sure looks like it. Says I can drop some household ammonia on the stem and it should change to a deep blue-green if it is indeed Xanthconium seperans.

If that's what it is, has anyone here ever eaten them? Supposedly they are pretty good tasting. The location I found it has a TON of these all over, so if they are delicious I am in luck.

Just don't eat the ammonia-covered bit
