Powerlifting certainly will build lots of muscle.... Though I have experimented with it and found that body weight exercises (possibly supplemented by weights) are much more effective for building useful muscle.... Not to mention much better for conditioning fighters and athletes (the special forces in America train using mainly body weight exercises)

well i dunno, i havent tried to 1rm for so long now, but i am having no trouble at all performing my 5/3/1 (duties)

i start week 3 on Wednesday (with press day)

loving my assistance exercises

those sumo deadlifts and hack squats are really taking it out on my legs. love it. my whole back is so filled out, it's ridiculous. i can barely fit any of my shirts any more, my gym shirt that i always wear is now nearly skin tight on me,

badass

oh and my bodyweight exercises (dips, chins) are going really fucking well... finally breaking that problem i had, i can do multiple (5+) sets of 10+ dips, added a plate to my dips (finally)

chins are great now too, although every set i alternate overhand, underhand, wide, narrow grip etc. bad idea?

Okay, I'm pretty much pissed off at the world for some reason, all around crabby pants today.  I am going to go annihilate myself at the gym to work it out...

Ha tonigh it's on! I had to waste 30 minutes of my time to take care of a 30 second thing I forgiven do at work before I left! Fuckin pissed, but I'll save if for the gym. Wish I could've gone this morning right after it happened, but knew I'd need a spot. Gonna go for the 100# dumbbells for flat bench today. Gonna be heavy heavy heavy on flat incline and decline 3-5 rep range maybe 5-8 sets of each at least 2 pushing my 1-3RM.

Chest day will look like this, help if you think it's needed:
Flat bells- 3-5 rep, 5-8 sets
Incline flye- 3-6 rep, 5-8 sets
Decline bell- 3-5 rep, 6-10 sets
Arnolds- 6-10 rep, 8-12 sets
Reverse delts- 8-12 rep, 4-6 sets

Gotta hit them hard and trying to over work so when I start my prohormones they're actually helping things repair and all that fun junk

I haven't really dipped into this thread that much and I don't know why. When I lift I mostly just do squats, bench press, some core stuff, some leg stuff, and chin-ups.

I have never really kept a routine, and just do whatever I feel like doing while I am at the gym(I go usually 3 times a week).

I am gonna start out on the Starting Strength Program and see where that takes me.

I have never really done deadlifts or power cleans though, and I am honestly afraid that I will have really bad form and fuck something up.

Any tips guys?

my main tip would be to get instruction from a PT for powercleans. i paid $70 for a session, the guy was a pro, he taught and taught but i just couldn't get them perfect... i mean i can do them, but whether i can do them perfect is another story, so i dont bother with them.

get instruction on how to do lifts correctly, you can think you're doing it right but look at yourself from side on or behind and you'll see mistakes.

iThink: would it not be better just to do all cardio in the morning and your weights in the afternoon as opposed to weights 2x daily? I don't see much leg work either except for your jump rope and running

i have been absolutely loving hack squats and good mornings, new leg work i can still use a bar for

I like doing chest on days I pin

Body weight is holding steady at 206

I can see how ppl get addicted to roids

I've never looked so good in my life

Careful on the roids as always bro! 110 bells is fucking awesome I have always been low in my db's but have been steadily gaining 5lbs a week on each assistance exercise so I must be doing something right

Shoulder day tomorrow after 2 rest days... Feeling quite swole!

just a copy of email i sent to a mate re: my PWO supp intake and how i use my proteins/supps etc if anyones interested

Quote:

Preworkout: light breakfast (oats, poached eggs, bit of honey etc), skip lunch if training around that time

Preworkout supp: YOK3D - 3 capsules 1 hour before workout (dose is dependant on your weight.. you should try this shit, it's nitric oxide activator so is helping your red blood cells carry more oxygen = huge performance gains)
MESOMORPH (1 scoop) + ENDURA (1 scoop) about 10-20 mins before workout with water

If I can remember, I take another scoop of ENDURA about an hour into my workout (I'm training 2 hours a day) just to keep the water retention and make sure i'm not losing minerals through sweat and urine, I drink about 4 litres of water every workout and sweat a shitload and found that Endura stops me feeling thirsty, and stops me pissing, which means i'm holding in minerals and water and not dehydrating at all... it' just magneisum + potassium.

Postworkout: About 50-90g MALTODEXTRIN (pure carbs) with about 50-90g protein (its a fuckload of powder to ingest so ight want to break it into a couple of shakes) I get the WPI (100% Whey Protein Isolate) and Maltodextrin from www.wheynatural.com.au , it is cheap as all shit. I just got 3 kilos of protein and 6 kilos of maltodextrin for like $170, also I take 3 BCAA capsules (cheap as shit from most health stores) with every protein shake I take, it feeds protein straight to the muscles

and have about 3 shakes of just 50g WPI every day

I try to avoid carbs as much as possible except for after my workout, to get the insulin spike going for muscle growth, but i'm pretty half assed about it.

I also take B-complex and vitamin c every day, I was trying to take flax oil, multi-VMA's and some other shit but i was using like a litre of flax a week and really couldnt be bothered.

If you are really desperate to shred down healthily, check out:

www.leangains.com

it's just chaning your eating habits, no stupid diet, but you change your eating pattern so your bodyis burning fats and shit at proper times.

it's good, but takes a bit of effort, chris did it with great results.
