Restrepo

Just watched the documentary restrepo and it was the most emotionally intense documentary I have ever seen. The film follows one platoon during their deployment in the most dangerous valley in Afghanistan. The filmmaker uses the fly on the wall technique and there is no discussion of politics or morals just the raw footage of the soldiers who were there. No film has ever solicited the range of emotions I felt, I laughed, I cried, the film really puts this war into perspective and I highly recommend it for all. Hell, I feel this should be mandatory viewing. Be forewarned, there is some brutal footage, but don't let that put you off from watching. I am left sitting here stunned and I can't imagine what must be going through the heads of the guys who actually lived it.

Here is a short clip thirty second clip that shows the  emotional horrors that these men lived through.

I watched this a couple months ago and it had its good and bad parts, but I personally wouldn't say it was the best or most emotional documentary I have watched. It is still definitely worth watching though.
