IMO fresh air is WAY nicer than gym air, and sunlight is much healthier than fluorescent light.
Just sayin'.
EDIT: oh never mind, I see what you meant now. That is kind of strange.

I'm pretty sure indoor flooring absorbs the impact of your feet much more efficiently than concrete does..unless, of course, you're running on tile or some other such hard indoor surface.

Is your surety based on experience, or just a wild guess?

Well, obviously running on grass is lower impact than concrete, but the difference between concrete and hardwood is probably minimal. I'm not basing what I say off of hard facts, and I know that all you do is argue, and I'm in no mood to argue with a stubborn internet bum

 Ah... yeah
wrong. as a near life long skateboarder, i recommend everyone to try it out no matter what your age is. unless you're already set on physical injuries
Oh I agree, I just thought it was funny. Granted skate boards scare the hell out of me. Gravity, bearings, wheels and rocks stopped me, oh and that thing called balance.

Nope..I have ran on several different types of surfaces, and can easily notice the difference of the stress being incurred onto my knees.
I mean, it's pretty obvious..jump up and down on a wooden surface, then do the same thing on concrete. You'll easily notice the difference.

I've had to run miles on concrete surfaces, wooden surfaces, and grassy surfaces..I can notice the difference between each, and I'm not even that heavy at all.
I concede that it could be all in my mind, but I am also aware of the possibility that you haven't been perceptive enough to notice the differences between the amount of stress incurred on your knees by the various surfaces.

i admit that there is a difference, but i can't really tell. admittedly I don't do a ton of running. Grass is my favorite surface to run on, and I can tell the difference between a track and concrete...but a hardwood gym floor feels about the same to me as concrete

My favorite surface to run on is that rubber shit they use for tracks (I forget what it's called, I used to know though)..it's softer than grass, and gives you more grip.

Skating is the shit. I'm nearly 20 and I skate pretty often and suck at it. Who cares, I'm having fun. Give it a go man you'll enjoy it, find some friends to skate with who have roughly the same abilities as you as well.
