how does something stand still while moving continuously?
Rotation
That must be an odd definition of standing still then...

Probably explains why all those flying saucer films show the UFO's rotating around and around.
Electrons don't orbit the nucleus due to gravity, it's the charges on them.
Mmm, and I'm not sure if they spin altogether. They still orbit around the nucleons.

They dont spin (verb) but they have spin (noun). That is, they have an intrinsic angular momentum but they dont twist around.

They may or may not, each state is possible IIRC.

yeah but you know, its a riddle.
the idea is that by rotating, the physical components of a system can be in constant motion while the system as a whole is not moving on the whole with respect to some other system
its a nice little basic trait of our universe, all stable things occur because instability is channeled into some sort of loop whereby it gets back to where it started.
either when planets move around the sun
electrons around a nucleus (might be a bit different but probably a similar idea, at least mathematically)
or the way that nutrients cycle in an ecosystem

What is the mass of time?

What time is mass?
