I am disappointed in Mr. Bush
    #1493694 - 04/25/03 03:06 PM (20 years, 7 months ago)

Bush is a simple man. All he wants to do is protect the lives of Americans.

... but we don't have to be hated to feel safe, and that's the major failure in his foreign policy. As much as he has shined in being the commander-in-chief, he has been completely inept at another one of his duties - chief diplomat.

The language he uses is unbecoming of The President.
He needs to realize that he is not bigger than the presidency. He needs to show more respect for the office and all the men that have come before him. I cringe every time Bush tries to ad lib something... remember his "crusade" comment a few days after 9/11? Do you think he even had the historical perspective to realize what that meant when he said it? It's unfortunate because I actually thought that he showed some great leadership in those uncertain times... I had high hopes for him... until that comment and then his simplistic "axis of evil" speech...

He might posses true leadership in a scary sense...
but his lack of political leadership in his own administration has allowed such right-wing nutjobs like Ashcroft and Rumsfeld to rise to undue preeminence. Bush came to office as a moderate and was completely outmaneuvered by his right flank. His lack of political skills is painfully obvious.

That being said, I think he was a better choice than Gore and I hope he changes his ways and does well in the future. But I'm afraid the damage has already been done - when the world thinks of America, they won't think of a peace loving people that have just been viciously attacked by terrorists. No. They'll see in us the arrogant, sneering face of our president.

So true! i've been labelled a "bush hater" but i never knew he was president until afghanistan. Its his attitude and actions that tarnish amercas shine so much. I really never had a problem with america...until now. If it turns out that he is sincere on a "free" iraq, and not gobbling up land for the sake of "good" and "god". But honestly i cant see him as anything more than a human, which is why i dont believe a word that comes out of his mouth.

He hasn't done anything really THAT terrible. His major fault is that he has ruined the world's perception of America with his attitude and there is a saying in politics: "perception is reality."

The sad thing is, the people don't love him in spite of his arrogance, but BECAUSE of it. In times like these, it's reassuring to have a world class prick on our side.

Bush.... Were talking Bush here..

Son of a man with DEEP ties in the CIA, DEEP ties in Oil, busines relations with the verry men who he claims to threatten our freedom and is only our president because of "complications" in the election process brought up by his brother?

Lets not forget that Bush actualy lost the elections, lets not forget that George Dubya made his first million dollars in dealings with Bin Laden and his brother, lets not forget that George, for reasions yet to be proven has waged a war against the verry people his father did...

Bush is FAR more worse than ANY president EVER was...

History will show this..

I live in australia and I know the damage he has done to the people of america
we as our coward PM has put it are srong U.S. allies but talk to most australians and you will receive a different view point. There are people here who would kill bush if the chance arose And even Individuals who strongly dis-like americans. (i object to this as like any form of racisim)So when our gov. supports america its out of fear of being left out in the open (the largest muslim country is just above australia) but we should have an independent policy and build relations with our closest neigbour.
This man should be stopped
WAR BRINGS WAR!

I frequently travel to FR, NL & UA. I see first hand the damage Bush has done to the image of America. Now, many people do not like Americans simply because they are Americans. That was not so two years ago. Some of you are probably thinking, 'That's simple minded! We have no control; how can you dislike us for what our government does?!?' Unfortunately, many outside of the US see and hear of the 'results' of polls from the US indicating a very high support level for Bush by Americans.

Not to mention the grandson (and great-grandson) of a man with Nazi ties.

dissapointed adj 1: defeated in expectation or hope.

I'm not dissapointed as he has completely lived up to my expectation of being a lousy-ass president.

I am. I just expected him to be a half-ass mediocre president, but now I consider him to be the worst president ever, or at least in the past 50 years.
