10 DAYS, NO CHANGE IN CAKES STILL-GETTING WORRIED

I fruiting 4 jars on the 7th and the myc. is not growing through the verm. I had a cake that ended up getting a contaminated, I moved this cake away from my others and broke off the contaminated part and tried to fruit it away from my original batch and even that cake started growing over the mycelium that was rolled on during the dunk and roll stage. Should I be worried that I am doing something wrong?

What kind of fruiting chamber are you using? What is the temp and RH?

I am misting and fanning at least 3 to 4 times a day. I have a shotgun fruiting chamber. I did dunk and roll, I dunked 4 cakes for 21 hours and 15 mins. the other 4 that I used medium grade verm. to roll in I soaked for 23 and a half hours, both in the refrigerator. my light schedule is 12/12 7:30AM to 7:30PM. My biggest question is, has anyone had cakes that have sat for 10 days without growing through the verm. they were rolled in? keep in mind I added another bag and a half of perlite(so the lighter measurement is obsolete) so I have 6 inches at least, some places have 6 and 1/4 inches to 6 and 1/2 inches of perlite now. I also never use the ultrasonic humidifierit is now not piped in and the hole is taped over.

are those cakes sitting directly on the perlite? Rr's videos showed placing foil under them, plus those cakes look very brown and big

I added perlite, I now have 6 and 3/4 inches of perlite. I ripped off all the tape and took the humidifier out and taped up the hole where it was. It still only wants to hold a 88-89-91% rh

It isn't a lack of faith that plagues the world today, its a lack of patience. Really brother, you need to just try to unwind and let them do their thing. The cakes look good, and if your humidity is right and you are misting and fanning correctly it WILL happen!! I birthed a cake last Monday (it had been fully colonized for 9 days when I birthed it) and it JUST popped out its first pin last night... sometimes these things just take time.

No worries.

Remove that hygrometer from the equation... Digitals typically won't work well in the range that Mycology needs them in (unless it cost you $400+)...
In fact... You'll be much better off not using a hygrometer at all, for SGFCs and monotubs... You will learn much more, much faster, by learning to "read" your grows...
A hygrometer can actually cause failure that otherwise would have been success... Like unnecessarily relying on a crutch that as a result keeps you from ever being able to run

then dont believe it.
your humidity is fine.
