I find this movement very difficult and painful on both my chest/shoulders and on my wrists. :S
Its not something i've studied in depth though.

Your comment reminded me of this though.

I was at a restaurant eating. Wasn't so hungry after seeing that. They replayed it OVER and OVER again. Big flat screen in front of me. *gag*

Nice! I think my problem with grip is the bars are skinny so I don't so much grab the bar as I let it hang on my fingers.
That video is horrid dude, that's like half his fucking hand! And how the fuck does someone do that much in fronts! I feel like a huge vag only doing 135 now haha

Justin Harris is a monster and extremely smart. Theoretical physics major. I've seen his workout partner around a few times and talked to Justin. The guy is a freak size wise. You'd think he was dumb just looking at him. Nope.

Fuck I think he's a retard using his Corky strength! Lmao! Naw, just cuz they're massive doesn't mean they're dumb or slow. I loved watching WSM when Mariuz Pudzianowski would compete. Biggest most ripped fucker I've seen! He's got the bodybuilder physique but in strongman size!

I've never used gloves, or straps, and though I got calluses initially, I don't have them any more. Most I've pulled is 670lbs, no problem with grip, no hand skin tearing off. skin with thick calluses actually tears more easily, so if you get them, shave them down with a razor blade.

i'd love to not use gloves, maybe i should train myself up. in the Starting Strength book it states that if you grip the bar correctly you should never tear your skin, you shouldn't "wrap" your hand around the bar, more just grip it without stretching your skin, apparently that's how the skin tears. i've asked a few sports stores for chalk, they don't stock it (?!?!?!) but i havent gone out of my way to actively seek it... but at least both the gym i use don't have much of a problem if i do decide to use it, i don't mind gloves... but i can feel the difference between gloves and not, and the raw option being beneficial, glvoes add a soft slackness to it
on a side not, a friend of mine just got his Fat Gripz
They are badass, you will have to deload a LOT but they train your grip strength INCREDIBLY and your forearms will be like popeye's in no time... i think they were only like $30

I love huge fat grips. In bootcamp the pull-up bars were 2inches in diameter I loved it. The most I ever did was 13 overhand. I hate the tiny tiny grips on most workout equipment. Most of the time I grip with out wrapping my thumbs around -I read it activates more muscles in the forearm- I have been using this grip almost exclusively. I made an attempt at deadlifting and used overhand no thumb grip. Not too much weight, stopped out at 145. I could have gone much higher but didn't want to go nuts my first time...

Breakfast: 3cups oats with raisins (A few powdered donuts too)
Brunch: 3 Tilapia fillets on bed of lettuce with cherries for dessert
Lunch: 3 more tilapia fillets same way with a protein shake
Lunch #2: 3/4lbs of ground beef grilled served on 2 cups brown rice (this will probably be the last meal I eat before I go lift.)
Dinner: A big piece of a pasta casserole and a few mexican tacos at my GF's house.
This is what I've eaten so far today. I'll keep updating as the day goes on. I'm never full for mare than a damn hour I swear.
This has been a typical day as far as my nutrition goes. I feel this is a big reason I have made such impressive gains thus far.
I also drank a decent amount of alcohol tonight if that matters
I'm also kinda surprised no one has brought up Hany Rambods fst-7 training method

Another 5/3/1 day, week 2/day 1 (press)
fuckign awesome, again. shrugs are being annihilated, arms are exploding, traps are getting fucking huge, as are lats and rhomboids, triceps getting solid, all deltoids are getting huge. this is phenomenal. its like SS lanted the seeds for this muscle growth and 5/3/1 is just making them explode... i cannot believe it, in the next week or so i'll try get some pics, although wont because dont want to be a dick haha
Blindtheeye: thanks, added link to 1st post.

The fst training has caught my eye a couple times, but German Volume Training has been a lot more interesting to me. I did this 8/8; 10/10; 12/12; 15/15; training once which you did 2 exercises a day (ex. dumbbell press & hammer curls; squat, stiff legs & dumbbell military; lawnmower pulls & skull crushers) alternating 2 chest, 2 back, 4 leg, and 2 for arms and shoulder. 6 on 1 off schedule and ending exercise is beginning for the next week. It's more volume stuff, but believe me it sets up a good solid base and increases that muscular endurance for explosive strength

I've been doing a new workout routine. In the mornings I do agility drills and jump rope along with two heavy lifting exercises, and in the afternoon I jump rope more along with four or five heavy lifting exercises. I also take creatine, an NO booster, and a multivitamin before I lift in the morning, followed by EAS or MuscleMilk shakes after I'm done. I am getting very good results.
