Dead on SNL

Just seen an old episode of SNL on E! with the Dead playing Casey Jones they even got a little jam going. I like seeing a healthy Jerry.
Anyone know what year that was? Donna and Keith were still in the band and Jerry was playing tiger I believe. My guess is 1978. I should know, I just read "A Long Strange Trip" but I can't look it up because one of my broke ass friends borrowed it.

Oh yeah does this mean there will be another song later in the show? don't bands get 2 songs on SNL?

I just wipped out my copy of A Long Strange Trip and, with the help of the index, I found that they appeared on Saturday Night Live Nov. 11, 1978. Good guess Adom. It sounds like it was a hell of an after party! I wish I could see that episode.

Some times the re-runs on Comedy central only show one of the songs

I remember seeing that show Adom.....

but the best TV appearance was by Jerry and Bobby on letterman singing Masterpiece.

how did they sound? band susually sound like shit on snl. the best variety type show they have bands on liv ei have seen so far is conan, almost everyone sounds good on conan.

Doesn't Bobby have bunny ears on when they're playing on SNL? Haven't seen the clip in awhile but i remember bobby having bunny ears.
