A quick post for non-drug users. * 2
    #14912162 - 08/12/11 04:29 PM (12 years, 9 months ago)

This is just a quick post for non-drug users seeking information.

I would like you to take 5 minutes and really think hard about this,

“I want you to imagine you have never drunk alcohol before or met anyone that has used alcohol before. Now if I was to say alcohol makes people angry and aggressive, people abuse alcohol on a weekly basis, that there are tens of thousands of people addicted to alcohol. Alcohol abuse costs our country over a million pounds a year. There were over 1000 alcohol related deaths, over 10’000 people hospitalised in 1 year alone. Every time you open a newspaper the only things you see are binge drinkers, alcoholics, drink driving accidents, domestic violence, drunken brawls and endless health warnings about liver/kidney damage caused by alcohol. Now imagine this is the only information you’ve ever been told about alcohol, what would your opinion be on alcohol use and people who use alcohol?”

I imagine you would be thinking this is an evil drug. You would be asking yourself why would people use this drug and then be asking yourself why do we allow people to use this drug?

This is not the case though. You do not have that image stamped into your mind, because you personally drink responsibly, you can clearly see and understand the difference between using alcohol and abusing alcohol.  You understand through education and information the true dangers of alcohol. Then you are left with a personal choice, you can either have a fulfilling life, while using alcohol responsibly or abuse alcohol and allow alcohol to effect your life. When you read a story in the paper about a drink driver killing innocent people you do not immediately think ‘that’s the alcohols fault’, you  instead think ‘what sort of idiot would drink and drive?’ You blame the person, not the alcohol. When you see children drinking, again you do not blame the alcohol, you ask where did they get it from, 'what sort of idiot sells/gives alcohol to children?'

Now I would like you to take 5 minutes and think about this,

“The government have just announced that alcohol is a big problem. They say under some religious beliefs, alcohol use is prohibited and these people do not want their children drinking or associating with people who use alcohol. In order to prevent the misuse of alcohol, the criminal activity of people under the influence and in the interest of health (liver/kidney damage, alcoholism) the government are going to ban alcohol. As from 11:59pm tonight, just for having a glass of wine with friends you are going to be a criminal. Sitting at home having a nice cold can of lager while watching the football will be a criminal activity. The police at any time can break down your door and trash your home, only in search of alcohol. There will no longer be a distinction between you and an alcoholic.”

What would  you do, how would you feel?

Remember, everything you read may not be the full story. Please don't pass judgement based only on someone elses abuse. If you choose to try any drug PLEASE research it yourself fully, understand the good and bad side, understand the risks, understand the facts.

Thanks

Sorry I should have said, this is mainly for Trolls, and parents who are in search of answers or check history bars.

My sister only recently found out her son (my nephew) is taking drugs. Being completely anti-drug, without full knowledge of drugs, did not know what to do. Some people may browse this site for answers. She was so happy to hear my side of things.

Its our job as drug users to make sure people have the opportunity to hear both sides of the story, other than the 'it'll mess you up into psychosis, kill you and rape your ass afterwards' attitude many uneducated people believe.

Drug users are in a fairly shitty position when it comes to telling our side of the story.

For one, no one believes us, thinking our brains are all fried from the drugs (which they are).

Secondly, admitted drug users are few and far between, due to drug use being illegal and socially unacceptable.

Thirdly, people that go on about how awesome drugs are sound like annoying teenagers trying to be cool.

So for now, we explorers of inner space must act in secret, to avoid full on pack rape by the packs of foul pigs and dogs that roam our streets.

Not sure where I'm going with this. But I liked your post.

Definitely a great read!

I think a post like this is something that would make many non drug users really stop and think about their view on drugs and the people who use them and perhaps become more accepting of them in general.

I go through the same thing, ignorant people will be ignorant.

edit: it's especially upsetting when I know the people are intelligent enough to understand my point of view, but are so brainwashed they refuse to.

Looks like drug users are standing up for themselves (I mean by words and petitions, not mindless acts of violence), What I like to see:thumbup:

Believe me, when a parent finds out their kids take drugs, most panic and fear the worst. They search for answers, and hopefully they may end up here, get some real education.

My sister was panicking when she found out her 18yr old son was smoking 'wacky backy', and didn't want him to have brain damage or turn into a criminal. Luckily she's got me as a bro, and her son's got an uncle who knows how things work. Instead of her going nuts at him, telling him he's an evil fekker thats low life scum, I've made sure they understand about drug use and drug MISUSE.

Drugs in a slight way are like cars, when handled responsibly, used wisely and respected, things shoudn't go wrong. Its only when stupid fekkers do stupid stuff and end up in hospital or a morgue.

I'm not even going to read this post. I'm going to respond. I'm going to do this because I'm tired and full of ethanol in my bloostream, I also like ketamine and heroin, but marijuana is stupid.

What was the post about?

Yeh i heard that bullshit from one of my religious mates a few months back, "Alcohols classed as a food" no, its a f**kin drug, you druggy, same with smokers, what are you... a drug a-d-d-i-c-t. I suppose smoking is a food to?

Anyway, stumped the hell out him when I asked one thing. I react badly with alcohol, it makes me extremely violent, to the extent I have hospitalised someone. I have a cannabis cake/coffee (food), and am nice and relaxed. Why would your god want me to use a DRUG which puts others in harms way, instead of using a different drug only harming myself? Couldn't answer.
