offline registry editor needed

ok so here is my problem now. I can keep everyone up to date real easy if you followed my other threads. I created dual boot with g parted on a dell computer already running windows xp. I installed ubuntu, at first computer didn't recognize partition, so I used commands to activate it via command prompt.
anyway the windows xp disk was burned from a copy, I used the activation key but it didn't work to activate online, which I tried to skip anyway. had the dumb 'windows needs to be activated window.' had the same problem with another pc running windows 7, but slic loader worked real fine. slic loaded doesn't exist for xp though. so I edited out the windows activation registry key, and even backed up the registry key. The problem was I didn't realize the timer was still counting down to activate windows, it's just that the window didn't pop up. so for awhile I've been using ubuntu, as it does pretty much everything I need. I switched back to xp one day, as there was a program I use there that I didn't want to download wine for. so I switched to this partition, and it tells me I must activate windows to use xp. I say "fuck it why not give it a shot" to try it with my activation key and as soon as I try it it says "can't activate windows it's already activated" since I already edited that in the registry, then logs me out.
I have no idea how to fix this, someone said to burn something to a cd called an offline registry editor as an .iso that you run from boot. But then I have no idea what to edit. any help on this?

no honest answers? I guess I'm going to have to get someone I know to help with this anyway. as once I get in there, I won't have a clue what to edit or not. ok, it looks like THIS is what I'll be needing:
http://windowsxp.mvps.org/peboot.htm
now I just have to figure out what to edit, any ideas?? whoops, that one is not an .iso. ultimate boot cd?
