Best FM transmitter for my Ipod? Suggestions?

Ok, so the cassette player in my car no longer works and I'm too broke to buy a new deck. So I traded my cassette adapter for my Ipod to a friend for a Scocshe FM Transmitter, which to my suprise actually works pretty well so far in my car. But I'm looking for something I can plug into my cigarette lighter and charge my ipod at the same time, something with a dock would be pretty cool too. I've had a lot of friends have issues with transmitters so I want to really know the best brands.
Also, it would be fucking cool if there was a transmitter that anybody knew of that has a usb port also so I can charge my phone at the same time.

I have no experience with FM transmitters specifically for iPods, but it seems to me that you considerably limit your choice of options by wanting to combine both an iPod cradle and an FM transmitter in one device. It's elegant, sure, but I wouldn't be surprised if you ended up with choice between only two or three options, all of which are suboptimal in all respects but the fact that they integrate both a transmitter and a battery charger function.

unscrew the antenna from your car and use any fm transmitter you want.
that is by far the most reliable way to do it.

The best way to use your iPod in your vehicle would be to get a new stereo head unit with an auxiliary input. With a FM transmitter it's simply never going to sound very good. If you have to use a transmitter the only one that I have used that wasn't constantly bombarded with interference was the Monster RadioPlay 300. They sell them at radioshack for about $70.00 and a little less at walmart. It'll be a lot cheaper to get it online.
If you care about your music not sounding like crap then you'll want to get a stereo head with aux input and I recommend it regardless if you can afford it. A stereo head unit with aux input should be about $100 and you'll also probably need a mounting kit. If you can install it yourself you could do it for about $120.00. Crutchfield is a good site to buy car audio stuff and it will tell what will fit in your vehicle.

lol, if his ride still has a cassette deck, i'm pretty sure all his hardware would require replacement to sound great.
op, get a charger/fm transmitter combo. expect to spend ~$50 on a cheap one. quick googling gave me this. http://www.provantage.com/belkin-f8z343~7BEL927C.htm

Hey guys, long time lurker...I stumbled upon a thing called RediRad (you can google it) that has NO interference (so my antenna stays on the car!!)... I have it in my '94 Volvo with the stock radio - Pandora to the rescue!!
