I haven't read it but i hear its good, he may want to save it til last though as after reading it the rest of the books might become redundant (if it is that good)

That's quite the range of books.
I'd say just start with anyone of those that catches your eye. Play around, see which one you like.
I really love Zen Mind, Beginner's Mind. I just recently read it, and I think it's fantastic.
The Book: On the Taboo Against Knowing Who You Are is also fantastic. It's one of my favorites by Alan Watts, even though it does get a lil' bit repetitive. (And he even says that in the book )
Test the waters. I'm just basically talking about how much I love Zen books.
I attached the Alan Watts book for anyone who was interested. It's a short read, but I love it.

Maybe watts first. Seems the most beginner. I never found anything positive from the book of the dead because it seemed very much up its own ass and the good stuff was very culturally different.

I don't know man. What I can tell you is that I absolutely LOVED The Tibetan Book of the Dead. I have a version with a foreword and clarifications by Jung. You should get the audio book of True Hallucinations, I've always enjoyed listening to Terence more than reading him. Food of the Gods is definitely worth reading, but I wouldn't start with it. That said you might wanna add Gödel, Escher, Bach: an Eternal Golden Braid by Hofstadter to your list.

Sekida's Zen Training was the first book on meditation I came across. I enjoyed it quite a lot at the time.

It is not the numbers that are inverted, but your mind.
Inconceivable!
