Having tripped before and enjoyed it immensely, I'm thinking of doing it again either this evening or possibly next weekend. Anyway, I find the eating itself basically revolting, so my current plan is to break the shrooms up into small pieces and just swallow them with some water. I was thinking this might even preserve some psilocin (since I understand you lose that to bruising/trauma). Any particular reason why this would be a bad idea?

Chewing shrooms allows for oral absorbsion of psilocin/psilocybin.
Simply swallowing them subjects all of the good chemicals to the ensymes in your stomach which aren't so nice about preserving these chemicals.
When eating them, try to chew them for a while and hold them in your mouth. It'll be a much more efficient use of your shrooms.

also i find that if you dont fully chew the shrooms you're more prone to stomach cramps.

Well, that answers that. I'll have to find some other way to get over my little problem... the funny thing is, I don't even think they taste all that bad, I just have a hard time swallowing them for some reason.

The last time I tripped, I did what you suggest, except i used orange juice. It worked very well. Didn't even taste the shrooms, although that gag reflex is troublesome.

i agree that they they dont taste like much... to me tis like chewing on cardboard with dried up cow dung on em, which really tasts like nothing to me.
so i just chew em up seeing as my parents dont trust me at all, so using a blender is out of the question... i just bring OJ and chew em up REAL good.

Get a glass of juice get ur shrooms and sit down and start watchin tv or somthin. Take some of ur shrooms put them in ur mouth and start chewing, then sip some juice and continue chewing, roll ur toungue around in this mixture, u want the mix too get all up under ur toungue after u did that for a while chug some juice while swallowing ur mix, when it goes down the after taste will b ur juice. then continue this process.
Under ur toungue is an area of ur body that is rich in blood vessels, this psilocybin will enter the bloodstream faster when the mushrooms are consumed this way.

I don't have access to a blender, but I might try it with a food processor... shrooms with some oj in a blender would probably make a more or less palatable paste.

I have heard of people using chocolate and/or ice cream to mask the taste. I would just go out and get some dipping chocolate at your local supermarket and try that.

the blender and oj thing is the best i did it this weekend and was feeling effects in 20 mins. I didnt even taste them either

Thanks everyone for the great information. I'm planning on tripping tomorrow starting at about 9:30 or so, using a food processor to blend shrooms and oj. One more question: if I go ahead and mix up the shrooms and oj tonight and refrigerate, will it keep?

i take some yogurt, throw the shrooms in the yougrt and eat the shit....tastes like cereal and yogurt...no taste of the mushrooms at all...onset also hits in like 20 minutes

If they're cracker dry you can grind them to a powder, and take them like BC/Goody's powder. Just put it in a pile in the middle of your tongue, and wash it down real quick. I usually use a strong beer, but don't drink much if any more alcohol than that.

Shroom Tea works great too. Just don't actually boil the mushrooms and you won't lose potency.
Process:
0. Put on some of your favorite music to jam to.
1. Boil Water
2. Add Tea Bag
3. Add other things you might like in Tea (sugar, cream, honey, etc)
4. After tea is the strength you want it, remove tea bag and and let cool for 2-3 minutes
5. Cut up shrooms into little pieces while tea is cooling
6. Add Shrooms to the bottom of a cup.
7. Pour Tea into the cup (make sure the tea bag is not in there), this is called steeping
8. Stir for 2-3 minutes so all the chemicals are soaked into the water
9. Drink tea (It is your choice to eat the little pieces of shrooms or not. I always eat them, but my woman skims them out of the cup and she has not had any problems at all.)
10. Sit back and enjoy the ride.
