SFC Fluorscent Light Placement *help*

Today I got extremely lucky while putting together my shotgun FC setup. I happened to have a fluorscent fixture with a light that was labeled "DAYLIGHT" on the bulb. Im fairly sure this will work but i wanted reassurance. Its a 15 watt daylight fluorescent. (pic below) - - - -

- - - - So my questions are: This is a good light for them i presume right ? and, how high above my SFC should this be kept. i was planning on attaching it to the underside of a 2'5'' table and placing the fruiting chamber underneath this. but i think it may be a little too close to the chamber. so what do you think, does the placement of the light even affect the growth ? and if so can it be too close ? (2 feet above)
thanks, and happy shrooming

That bulb should work. Actually, it is probably overkill.
I'm not sure what to tell you for height, but I've used a CFL 4 feet above without problems so it's probably not necessary to have it so close.

I would place it about until you can't feel any heat discharge from the bulb touching the fruiting chamber, by using the back of your hand to guage the heat, or whatever way is easiest for you to mount the light and give the fruting chamber adequate fresh air. Plus a guy posted this today talking about lighting and what not.

Thanks for the reply par, helped a lot
I can still place the FC where i want but after reading that post i found its better to not put the light right above the tank, but instead off to the side somewhat facing the FC.
It will be easy for me to do that, and plus the light fixture has a diffuser that i took off for the pic. dont think ill use the diffuser because as mentioned in that post its better to be a brighter light ;]
