Fractional steralization for fresh poo?

I just got a few gallons of poo from a farm, and I'm still trying to put all the pieces together conceptually. As I understand it:

There are a lot bacteria in poo that are dormant so they can survive the winter. While they are dormant, they can survive pasteurization temperatures as well as a cold winter. The transition from cold to warm temps brings everything out of it's dormant state. When the poo is dry they can't survive because they need moisture, which leaves a lot of dead bacteria for the mycelium.

So, here's the idea:

Get some fresh poo. If it's soupy, add verm or dry straw until the moisture content is good. pack into pint jars or spawn bags.
Freeze overnight, cook at 170 for 30 min.
Fridge overnight, cook at 170 for 30 min.
Fridge overnight, cook at 170 for 60 min.

I know you can leach poo, but I'm wondering if this method would leave even more nutrients in the poo. Would it work?

who told you manure needs to be sterilized?

we pasteurize it.

oh your talking about fresh poo? too much ammonia, not good for our uses.

Yeah, I was talking about fresh poo.

Just found agar's journal. It has a good read on the thermophilic bacteria.

again, your main issue is not going to be the bacteria, but the ammonia.

bacteria issues are solved with proper pasteurization


and ammonia issues are solved by using field aged manure.

not fresh "soupy" poo
