I've heard that a lot of the stuff that's on the market now is likely expired, thought I don't know if it's true.

I've had the same 500g jar for a couple years and it's still well and kickin'. It does say it expired June 2010, though.
I've tried the stuff out before but I think I've always been on so many mind-clouding drugs (weed/alcohol/benzos/opiates) that I never noticed a difference.
Now that I'm sober most of the time I've noticed some pretty significant effects. I've been taking ~3000mg 2x/day with soy lecithin for choline.
Like somebody else said, it's "subtle but powerful."
The main effects I notice are :
-increased clarity of thought -increased attention span -increased concentration -increased motivation (I especially like this last effect)
It's good stuff for sure. I've been rather depressed lately so it's cool to have something that, while it does not directly help the depression, gives me motivation to take steps to actually feel better.

Who else here has experience with piracetam? I've been making another attempt at taking it daily and it seems to do a lot for general motivation/attentiveness.
piracetam is great shit. eat the shit on the daily nigga and your brain will grow. sucks for the floozies who can't 'preciate
mix it with weed shrooms LSD etc your brain will grow more
there is no reason why we should not take advantage of drugs like this. the difference for me has been night and day. it's good shit
hey, you should check into plant nootropics as well
p.s. always remember, piracetam only gets better with time, just like anything good. and after sometime, you will need MUCH smaller doses for it to be effective.. i only need 1g or less per day now for optimal effects.. and i have a 500g+ stash

I'm actually thinking I will cut my dose in half - I've been taking it daily for a few weeks now, and the nootropic effects are VERY noticeable but I've also been having a hard time sleeping.

Exercise causes neurogenesis, piracetam causes increased blood flow to the brain - my logic is that piracetam + exercise = fatter brain and permanent cognitive enhancement.
Measuring something like that without any methodology or control group is pretty tricky, but I sure feel smart.
Dude, I loved going on bike rides after popping those pills.
I opened one up to taste the contents. Weird bitter taste, washed it down.
Would love a kilo of it for 15 bucks. That's what, 14 pounds in todays money? Dunno about it's shelf life though. Something I'd totally share with my grandparents. Although my grandmother is remarkably lucid for someone of her age.

I've been taking piracetam irregularly, I haven't tried it with choline. Next time I order something from my vendor I'll have to add choline to the list.

You mean in terms of aniracetam vs. piracetam, or in terms of normal consciousness vs. enhanced consciousness?
Because I can say it's like I've had superpowers this past week, I'm naturally organized and productive, my house is in bizarrely tidy shape, and I've been emptying the litterbox every day.
I'm thinking that with this stuff, I can ditch 90% of my ritalin-taking for school. I'll still keep it around in the event of an emergency, but in terms of everyday, baseline focus and motivation, piracetam seems to kick the shit out of every stimulant I've tried.
When I first started taking adderall for school somebody tried to tell me this, and I thought they were full of shit. Live and learn, I guess.

I meant both actually. Aniracetam is usually more potent judging from reports and my own experience. But yes, in general I notice an overall improvement in various aspects of cognition. Like you said though, sleep cycles are definitely impacted. I personally feel a positive regulation effect for 2 weeks, where upon I wake up and feel rested. After awhile I notice that I wake up frequently and do not sleep deeply.

I am very interested in trying some nootropics.
Should I start with piracetam, or go straight for the aniracetam?
What about mixing the two, or is that pointless?
How necessary are choline and inositol for good effects from the -iracetams?

inostol isn't necessary at all, it just comes included in some choline pills. But on any reasonable dose, choline is a must.

Aniracetam is noticeably more powerful and long-lasting, but it also costs a helluva lot more than piracetam. At its price it's hard to use it as a "supplement" the same way.
I've heard a lot of people saying they take both, and I can see why - they seem to have different, if similar, effects on focus and attentiveness. Piracetam seems to be more motivating to me whereas aniracetam seems to be more passively language-oriented. There's a lot of overlap though, and both are awesome.
Choline (or any other acetylcholine precursor) makes a big difference. Seems to activate it.
