well, went down to my usual spot after a month away, and rather than an easy 1k, found only about 250, and most of which were very dry.
Minimal pins around too. I'm guessing school holidays/uni holidays it got raped hard, considering there was socks, shoes, cans and rubbish fucking everywhere.

Pretty disgusting really, and makes me really disgruntle to ever show people spots again. All in all i had an amazing season, cant imagine im going to go picking again this season

I found a Twisties chip packet in my secret secret spot tonight...I was pissed....

Twisties are fucking rank!

Haha hell yeah  go the rain!!!

Would the last few days of relatively nice weather helped myc to grow? Or does it need to be warmer for a longer period?

Been down to where me and my mate pulled in big but there hasn't been much sign of growth at all :frown: hoping to get atleast 1 more flush outa it lol

whatsup guys haven't posted in a while.

@jon
no as I said a few pages back, the big flushes are pretty much over.
Subs will continue to fruit until early september (as they do every year from what I've learned)
If you have a patch that has perfect conditions and stays cool and wet most of the time you may still have a fairly good hunt, but the huge flushes of the peak of the season are long gone.
:peace:

I will be going on my last hunt for the 2011 season over the next few weeks before I hang it up for the year.
Its been a awesome season, had the best time and even met a few of you from here. :peace:

PS- I'll be doing a post containing all my best photos of the year over the next few days. It would be cool for you guys to all do the same so there is a few full pages of photos to end this years thread with a bang.

thats a great idea austrip good to have the thread end with a hole bunch of pics. mr f you usualy have nice sub pics so would be good to see more from you and everyone else threads gotten a tad quiet as of late lol.

yeah jonstoned subs are most deffinetly still out, i still have patches pinning and will do for atleast a few more weeks now just depends on where you look, most of these patches retain alot of moisture throughout the year though. i most certainly wont be finding much more than 50 every week or so. im keen to see how long the season will hold out in previous years ive found a few as late as mid september in 09 and about a week earlier last year and also as early as late april/early may, much like a few of you off this thread. ive also heard of people picking realy early october so guess ya just gotta keep good faith and keep up the hunting

I believe the season is pretty much winding up.

going out for a walk around today you could just feel it was past that point.

I have found in previous seasons after the big sub flushes, that even if you get a shitload of rain, that other late season non active specimens just flourish.

Amanita pop up, then some subs, then a shitload of subs, then barely any subs. Then one day you notice your drive up to wherever things are starting to look not so green, and kinda yellow and dieing.

It definitely started earlier this year, and you can feel under foot things are alot drier earlier also.

Subs are just real picky. Thats why even in late october when you get a couple of weeks of oddly cold weather, and lots of rain that the subs dont start back up again.
Its like once they have fruited for the year, they dont need to do it again it seems.

Well mushrooms don't just fruit forever even when the conditions are perfect. They spend all year building up enough energy to be able to fruit during the optimal conditions. Each patch can only have so many flushes before they start producing fewer and smaller fruits, it's just the way it is.

www.sporeworks.com

do a lot of study, buy a print and start growing your own cubes on the off season. I've met about a handful of cube growers in SA, we're few and far between really.

^^ read my mind with the growing buddy.

Will probably go out once or twice before the season is truly over but then I think it might be time to move to a PF tek

This season was wicked got one really nice haul, got enough to last ages, and it got me straight back into getting my entho garden started
But now it's starting to heat up I've moved my attention onto my pedro, acacias and mimosa, on the hunt for a decent cube print but not to keen to get one off a overseas vendor.

If you want spores just ask, i'm sure some one on here will have some  wink wink

Just be very careful with PF tek's I had a few jars that went bad recently and now i'm starting to think i've gotten mcotoxicosis, from a simple mistake of a bad jar being opened, i feel like crap most of the time, visions shonky and i feel like i'm smoking 100 ciggies a day my lungs are constantly aching, so do as recoomended and STUDY STUDY STUDY...you don't wanna end up with what i might have. :frown:

Peace everyone.

^ that's not good buddy :frown: best of luck, is there any way to fix yourself?

Think I might get on the PM  done a little study so far, I'm pretty anal when it comes to precautions but still things can and do go wrong, quite a bit with the PF tek by the sound of it.
