The "raptors" portrayed in Jurassic Park were modeled after a larger relative, Deinonychus.

After jurassic park was finished, paleontologist discovered the Utah Raptor. Huge.

Also, reverse engineering doesn't really give you a dinosaur...it's just a bird that has had thousands of genes turned on and off. There's a cool documentary about it somewhere...!

Why are scientists so uninventive with the names they give to dinosaurs?

Why would you call something as badass as this Utahraptor?

Yes it's possible they just have to find DNA from a dinosaur they found DNA from a mamoth and are gonna breed the DNA with an elephant so the baby is a mamoth.

Im sure bio engineers are pretty close to rearranging chicken DNA to resemble a raptor. Supposedly Chicken embryos have small raptor like arms before the fingers fuse to become a wing. They also have a tail before an enzyme activates and gets rid of it. If you look at a chikens feet it looks like what you would think a dinosaurs skin would be like. There is even evidence that some dinosaurs were warm blooded like todays birds.

I doubt something like a T-rex would ever be recreated though.

You do realize that dinosaurs and mammoths are from completely different times right? A mammoth is a couple thousand years old, a dinosaur is hundreds of millions of years old.
