People get sooo angry at opiates because their friends/family are irresponsible and can't handle using drugs.
Can't use drugs responsibly? Don't do drugs. It's that simple.
Either that or use them irresponsibly and die. That's what free will is all about, choosing your own path.

Opiates are an absolute godsend in the medical world. They are also an awesome recreational substance in careful moderation. Superhigh, you can't blame a molecule for existing. It didn't hurt you, you hurt yourself. You are the sole reason for your troubles with opiates.

Its funny when I see posts like this.
Everybody here blames society for all the shit that is going on in the world, But when it comes to drugs, its YOUR problem dammit, not societies! Drugs are harmless and should be legal!
No offense to your post Jeebies, its something I notice everywhere on this website.

Saying it's society is cop out. "Oh I'm addicted to pillz, it's society's fault." That's nearly as annoying as when someone says they can't quit 'cause they have addiction. "Wahhhh I have a disease." The less excuses we hand an addict the better, you gotta bitchslap them with some hard truths. This is a problem that shouldn't be credited to society, even if pop culture makes drugs seem fun and harmless, because then no one will take responsibility for being a .

I fucking loathe the "addiction is a disease" sentiment in todays society. Take some fucking responsiblity for yourself for christ sakes.

if opiates were legally and freely available, addiction wouldnt be a problem. Youd have a small percentage of folks addicted and laying about, but you'd relieve society of all the burdens of it being illegal, no shady back ally deals no robberies to feed addiction, etc.. etc.. not to mention pure and controlled amounts where people wouldnt die from not knowing what they are dealing with, not to mention greedy people cutting things with dangerous substances.

I hate you and the people like you who think other people should be making decisions for me. I can choose my own path and face the consequences. I'm not a coward who needs a nanny state to make sure I don't kill myself.

I think you misunderstand me.
I'm saying that the responsibility lies with the individual. Obviously.
Society has it's own problems, but those problems are based on the decisions of many INDIVIDUALS.
It's all about accountability, and people not being able to take any.

Also, Propensity. I'm not against freedom. Even if drugs are illegal you still have the freedom of taking them. Perhaps what you meant to say is that you don't want to be punished for taking them.

you dont have the 'freedom' to take them, you have the freedom to acquire them illegally. People who will do drugs will do them regardless of legalities. Its like those who says 'if pot is legal, do you really want people driving around stoned? or coming to work stoned? etc..' that logic makes no sense.
