I find that everytime I post a new thread in OTD, it gets jacked or filled with idiocy or bumped back to page 3 in mere hours.

OTD is fun once in awhile...it's just a different experience then the Pub. I think this forum also better suits my posting style.

you have to learn to structure your initial post correctly, control the way the thread progresses, and know your audience. posting a sucessful thread in OTD is an artform and i think most people diss OTD because they haven't mastered it. the pub is definitely cool but people here have serious issues with downing OTD.

i don't edeny that the majority of threads in OTD are seriously lacking in content. not much you can do about that except not contribute to the problem.

There's a lot to be said for that. Look at bivalve's post on DrugKidism, that spent a lot of time on page 1. It's like trying to plant a flower in a weed garden, you either have to give it constant care and attention while it grows, or have a seed that makes it grow.

But OTD is NOT a flamefest. That is the only criticism I will say is out and out wrong.

hA. i just find that funny...there really isn't much flamage in OTD.
just the fact that your new thread that you may have put quality effort into thinking of or making it to contain quality content either gets bombarded with senseless crap or gets washed away from the masive overposting of senseless crap.
the pub = place for chill, thoughtful people with quality thoughts to collaberate or share quality thoughts.
