Never jammed with a drummer - I've played with a few guitar players, but never a drummer. I'm pumped. Still no bassist, but hell it's gonna be awesome.
I'll report back later. Peace pubbers.

Jamming with a drummer is perfect for getting your timing down, well that and letting your own musical voice speak.

Couldn't have said it better myself. Throw a bassist in there and it's like fucking sex on a bun.

I've only jammed with a drummer once before. Myself on guitar, friend on bass and of course the drummer. Improv jams are the shit

As a (former) drummer, make sure if you're leading you keep some sort of rhythm for him to follow. If there's a bass, it doesn't matter as much but if you're leading, the drummer needs something. I've jammed with a lot of guitarists and the biggest complaint I have is they'll try playing something that has no rhythm/time signature/anything and it's fairly hard to come up with a part on the spot.
Either way, good vibes your way.

I played a ton of bass guitar back in high school, and rarely ever jammed with a drummer, but when I did it was

Also "skips" between chord changes might fly with other guitarists, but not with drummers. The most frustrating thing ever is when I'm trying to jam and they just get half a beat off for no reason. Totally fucks it up.
If you can't make the chord transition smoothly, don't do it or allow yourself more time to do so.
