    #1484464 - 04/23/03 12:03 AM (13 years, 7 months ago)

I put my cake in my fruting chamber about more than a week ago
Maybe 2 weeks
And nuthin has happened
except a little bit of white fluff on bottom
I think there is knots but they havnt grown at all
Why is this?
Humidity problem?
I lined bottom with perlite and i fan it like..3 times a day
and my strain is MAz

What is the humidity in the chamber?

light exposure? how much if any. it requires 12 - 18 hours per day of indirect natural or otherwise.

tastyshroom, give it light, and make sure the temps are in fruiting range drop them down to 72F since it's been in the fruiter for 2 weeks now and see what happens a few days after that, if nothing. I would go ahead and case those cakes.

peace

If you start to notice things forming at the bottom of the cake.. that could mean that the humidity is screwed up... thats why things are happening on the bottoms of the cakes, there is more humidity there because they are closer to the perlite... hope this helps.

not necessarily, usually the mushrooms will thrive in the best microclimates for them. Such as valleys in a casing layer, or a valley between perlite and cake. It's not necessarily a problem. Just selectiveness.

mushrooms do not NEED 12-18 hours of light to grow-read stamets: a matter of seconds with the right wavelenth triggers the big boys.
